As the weather warms up, our campus nurse brainstormed creative ways to get our residents outside and moving. She has created an activity program that involves a point system, redeemable for rewards. The program is named “Move More, Earn More.” Activities to choose from include walking, biking, various classes and weightlifting at the YMCA, sports, and even a daily step challenge. Not only does it promote physical health, it also promotes improved mental well-being. The program creates a positive, supportive, and flexible approach to teen fitness. By offering choice, encouragement, and meaningful incentives, the program helps teens develop healthier habits while feeling empowered-not pressured. Thank you to the Sumter YMCA staff, who gave our residents a personal intro class last week.

Last week, 8 of our team members attended the 2026 PAFCAF conference in Myrtle Beach, celebrating 40 years of impact and learning ways to better serve children and families. Our Executive Director, Jerry Allred, is the current President of the Board of Directors. Our staff connected with other programs, attended informative sessions, and even hit the dance floor at the 80's themed celebration.

Yesterday, we were blessed to have Sara from the Bloomhaven Foundation introduce our kids to the beauty of flowers. Their organization utilizes floral design to foster healing, self-esteem, and connection, and our children were thoroughly enjoyed this fun event.

This past Saturday the Royal Rangers church ministry hosted our middle and high school kids for a day learning about archery as well as studying the word of Christ. The Royal Rangers in Sumter is hosted out of First Assembly of God. Our children had a great time and our staff loved joining in on learning some archery skills as well.
