There's still time to make a tax-deductible donation to Pandemic Patients before the end of our fundraising campaign!
At the time of this post, we've raised $65,935 to deliver support and services to long COVID patients in 2024. Every dollar raised will allow us to deliver pro bono legal aid to help those who have been disabled by long COVID. These services are invaluable for Americans who are battling a complex and often incurable chronic illness that threatens their health and their ability to maintain their employment.
Can you make a gift to Pandemic Patients to help push us closer to our fundraising goal before midnight tonight?
Did you know?
Viral activity in our wastewater is the HIGHEST it has been since the Omicron surge in January 2022. That means MILLIONS more Americans will be affected by long COVID this coming year. Many people think a COVID-19 infection has become mild, but the latest data from the U.S. Census Bureau shows that 1.6% of the American population, over 6,000,000 people, are *currently* experiencing *significant* activity limitations because of long COVID. This disease represents a truly profound interruption of life in America.
While we do not yet have a cure for long COVID, we are doing everything we can to ensure patients are supported when they experience severe symptoms like difficulty breathing, vertigo, and cognitive impairment. Because long COVID can be difficult to diagnose, many patients experience profound challenges accessing disability benefits when they become disabled. That means they are unable to work, and they are not receiving any income. Long COVID is pushing countless Americans to the precipice of financial disaster, which is the last thing you want to be worried about when your health and functional capacity are on the line.
Through our Pandemic Legal Assistance Network, we help long COVID patients fight back against wrongful denials of the disability insurance benefits they are entitled to. Without our help, many long COVID patients spend months or years filing appeals with their disability insurers and the Social Security Administration. Could you survive financially if you became disabled, lost your job, and had to wait up to 2 years to receive a determination from the Social Security Administration for your SSDI benefits?
Every $50 donated to Pandemic Patients allows us to provide 1 hour of free legal aid to someone battling long COVID. I humbly request that you donate to our campaign to help us provide more services to more of your fellow Americans in need.
