Happy Holidays and Heartfelt Thanks!
For over 30 years, the Shower Shaw with Goodies/Cookies program has been a treasured tradition in the Sumter community, bringing joy and gratitude to the Airmen and Soldiers at Shaw Air Force Base. This incredible effort would not be possible without the dedication of our amazing volunteers and the generosity of donors who come together each year to make it happen.
Your contributions of time, treats, and love remind our service members, especially during the holidays, that they are appreciated and supported by the community they serve. These care packages not only bring smiles but also strengthen the bond between Sumter and Shaw AFB, reflecting the true spirit of unity and holiday cheer.
Thank you for helping us continue this wonderful tradition. Your kindness and unwavering support make a difference and leave a lasting impact.
Wishing you and your families a holiday season filled with love, joy, and peace. Here’s to another successful year of spreading gratitude and holiday magic!
With heartfelt thanks,
~ Cleo

Members of the Shaw Spouses Club prepared gift bags for the annual Shower Shaw with Goodies program on Tuesday, Dec. 3, at the Meeting House in Memorial Park.

Running for more than 30 years, the program is designed to provide a sense of support and family to Shaw Air Force Base members who are away from home during the holiday season. This year, almost 900 soldiers and airmen will receive a gift. The items included come thanks to donations from local schools, churches and other organizations.

"This is always one of my favorite events. It really shows the Sumter community coming together and it really touches the hearts of the people that receive [the donations] because these men and women are without their families," said Bridie Hicok, member of the Shaw Spouses Club. "This is a little bit of home, and especially knowing that it comes from the Sumter community shows how much this community really cares and wants to give back to Shaw."

Yesterday, Principal Dr. Leach proudly delivered goodies for the Annual "Shower Shaw with Goodies" initiative, bringing a little holiday spirit to the incredible Airmen and Soldiers at Shaw Air Force Base. This heartwarming tradition, upheld by all schools in the district, aims to express our gratitude for their service by providing gifts to 900 Air Force members and soldiers.

A special thanks to the CHS Teacher Cadet students for their thoughtful contributions! Your beautifully crafted, personalized cards added an extra touch of warmth and appreciation to the holiday packages.

We are so proud to be part of this meaningful effort that highlights the strength of our community and our support for those who serve. Thank you to all Knights who participated in making this event a success!
