The Voice of Democracy and Patriot's Pen scholarship essays are released. The post is now accepting entries. Get started now the essay is "What a Veteran has taught me about America". Students can be enrolled in traditional k-12, home schooled, or other means of education institutions (but the VFW must be able to verify grade and enrollment status). Entries must be turned in no later than October 31st at 1159 pm uploaded to the Scholar’s App.

The Patriot's Pen is only open to kids in 6 - 8 grades (2026/2027). Please see link below for official rules and entry form. The national winner will receive $5,000 paid to the winner. As well as Post, District and State level awards if chosen.
