Celebrate Recovery Run For Your Life Our Annual CR Run for Your Life 5K, happens every year in September...join us! Not long after did she discover that she also needed help.

This 5k Run/Walk is no ordinary race, but an event where every step has a purpose. Come out to walk or run in memory of someone you have lost to addiction or in celebration of someone who has overcome a hurt, habit or hang up. It is a race to acknowledge the many forms of addiction and to offer hope to individuals, families and the community.

2 Samuel 22:38-40 “I chased my enemies and destroyed them; I did not stop until they were conquered. I consumed them; I struck them down so they did not get up; they fell beneath my feet.”

Ryan's Story:

On December 23, 2014, Ryan lost his battle to win his fight over drug addiction. His sister Cheryl, wanting to remove the stigma of addiction, brought up the idea to have a fun run in memory of Ryan...this race will be to run or walk in memory of those who have lost their lives or who are living with addictions. By raising an awareness and removing the stigma, together we can find hope and help for the addict, for the family, and for the community! Four years ago, wanting so much for Ryan to overcome, Ryan's mom Linda, went through the doors of Celebrate Recovery at Calvary Community Church in Sumner, WA to find support and help for Ryan. "The love and support that has been received from Celebrate Recovery during this overwhelming time has been my life-line!"

Funds raised from this race will go to the Celebrate Recovery Ministry at Calvary Community Church, in Sumner, Washington, a powerful, safe, positive ally for those who long to break free from life's hurts, habits and hang-ups. Celebrate Recovery believes that our Higher Power, Jesus Christ, is at the center and forefront of working to overcome our struggles. "I hope that you will join me and my Daughter Cheryl on September 26th as we all walk and run together for those we love and care about!"

This is Ryan’s Story:
Ryan lost his battle to win his fight over drug addiction. His sister Cheryl, wanting to remove the stigma of addiction, brought up the idea to have a 5k in memory of Ryan...this is where "Run for Your Life" started. This race will be to run or walk in memory, to walk or run for someone who is in the battle and for those who are taking each day at a time to overcome a hurt, habit or hang-up.

Celebrate Recovery is a powerful, safe, positive ally for those who long to break free from life's hurts, hang-ups, and habits. Celebrate Recovery believes that our Higher Power, Jesus Christ, is at the center and forefront of working to overcome.

Today we remember Bobby Stanton.

Bobby’s Mom, Stacy, writes: “My son fought so hard for so long to win his battle against his op**te addiction. He had 17 months clean when he entered into a very toxic relationship that changed his course again and he relapsed. Op**te addiction destroys more than the person who is addicted. It destroys families and leaves them shattered.I fought hard with my son for 14 years and prayed I would never get that call that all mother's of addicts fear. He wasn't a bad person. He loved his friends and family more than he loved himself. He helped get people into treatment right up to the end of his life. I miss him so much every single day and sometimes it cripples me with pain but I know he is watching over us and he is no longer fighting demons and is pain free. We had a relationship like no other and for that I am grateful for the 33 years I was given, even though it will never be enough.”
