The path toward recovery after a traumatic injury or life changing diagnosis can be a difficult jour

Becoming paralyzed is one of the most daunting life changes to adjust to. It is our hope that the Here and Now Project can help fill that void for people whose lives have been affected by paralysis by connecting them with others who have shared their struggles. In the darkest moments of our lives, what we need more than anything is that tiny sliver of light to see that we are not alone.

Flashback Friday to last weekend in Wenatchee! ☀️ Great company, a gorgeous Saturday, and plenty of cycles to try.

We hosted a Meet and Greet alongside the Adaptive Cycling Event with Outdoors for All Foundation and Confluence Health . A small but meaningful gathering, and we’re glad we got to spend the afternoon together.

A few days ago, we welcomed the start of fall in Spokane at SCI Community Day at St. Luke’s Hospital.

We connected with new patients and planted seeds with other long time wheelers for a potential Spokane H&NP meeting. We’d love to see these conversations grow!

The St. Luke’s team then led an informative session on emergency preparedness, followed by a panel of wheelers with anywhere from a year to almost four decades of experience.

Thank you to the St. Luke’s team and everyone who joined us!

The day wrapped up at at No-Li Brewery to keep the conversations going and share Girl Scout cookies! 🍪 A big thank-you to Girl Scout Troop 2519 for generously donating 96 boxes to our community.

The rain held off, the pulled pork was ready, and the potluck tables filled up with homemade dishes, favorite snacks, and plenty to share.

More than 50 people joined us for this year’s H&NP Picnic & Potluck, coming from as far away as Alaska and as nearby as Puyallup. It was so good to spend the afternoon catching up with familiar faces, welcoming new ones, and simply enjoying time together.

Thank you to everyone who came and to all the volunteers who helped with setup, cleanup, and everything in between. You made the day what it was.
