The third Back-to-School Supply Fair is happening tomorrow! 🎒

📅 Thursday, Aug. 20
🕓 4-6 p.m.
📍 Sumner Middle School Commons, 1508 Willow St., Sumner (Indoor event)

We welcome SBLSD families in need of backpacks and other resources to stop by and get ready for the new school year. All items are donated or purchased with donated funds, and any remaining items will be provided to our schools to be used throughout the year.

Sunshine, smiling faces & school supplies! We are so thankful for the volunteers and community partners who helped us serve 212 families, handing out 566 backpacks to our students.

Did you miss it? We'll be at Liberty Ridge Elementary on Monday, August 17 from 12-2PM, and again on Thursday, August 20 from 4-6PM at Sumner Middle School.

The Family Resource Center is here for you - whether it is to sign up for SNAP, Medicaid, or you are looking for parenting support through the Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department Triple P program. Come and see us!

It’s almost time! Our first Back-to-School Grab & Go of the season is happening this Thursday at Daffodil Valley Elementary from 12-2PM.

We’re looking forward to welcoming families and getting school supplies into the hands of students as they get ready for a new year. A big thank you to everyone in our community who helps make these events possible!

Want to be part of the effort? There’s still time to contribute to Fill the Canoe! We’re collecting new school supplies at the Family Resource Center through Thursday, August 14. Don't have time to shop? Your monetary donation will be matched dollar for dollar. Find out more at fillthecanoe.com.

Looking for back-to-school information? 🤔 As we get closer to Sept. 1, we want to make sure you have everything you need to get started. 📚️

From back-to-school nights, school supplies and more, find important information on our Back-to-School HQ at sumnersd.org/BacktoSchool.

Our schools will be communicating additional information with families throughout the month. The first day of school for grades 1-12 is Tuesday, Sept. 1. The first day of school for kindergarten is Tuesday, Sept. 8.

For many families in the Sumner Bonney Lake School District, back-to-school season brings added financial pressure—especially when it comes to purchasing school supplies.

Fill the Canoe is one way our community comes together to help. Through August 14, your donation of school supplies will help ensure students have the tools they need to succeed in the classroom.

Together, we're helping students start the school year prepared, confident, and ready to learn.

Every notebook, backpack, box of crayons, and pack of pencils makes a difference. Thank you for helping us support local students and families!
