FYI - Sugarbush is the closest big mountain to us and many members get there at least once on every VT trip.

Send off Mt. Ellen in style during this closing weekend! Celebrate her legendary season with the Last Chair Après Party at Walt’s at the Glen House (Saturday, 3/29, 3–7 PM). Then, keep the fun going Sunday with a GML party (3–6 PM) featuring The Detonators, and don’t miss the ch*****ne cowbell sendoff!

Sugarbush is a year round resort known for its excellent skiing & snowboarding. During Summer, outdoor adventures include mountain biking, golf & family fun.

The party is free of charge but we request that you sign up to bring an appetizer or dessert. Please let us know what you’ll be bringing.

This is our Spring Fling Party so there will be no formal meeting nor Zoom call.

Passing of Dave Kreutzer

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Dave Kreutzer. Dave was a committed supporter of SHSC from the late 60’s thru the 80’s, and one of the most accomplished skiers that ever passed thru our club. In addition to work weekends and meeting attendance, Dave co-chaired the instruction committee.

He gave up two weekends of his time and money to join with 2 others of us and attended PSIA-D team instruction and testing. We achieved QASI qualifications and were offered instructor jobs at Great Gorge ski area (refused). Dave ran classes for club members at selected Vermont areas.

He retired early and moved with his wife Lenore to Colorado where he took an administrative job in the Keystone Ski School. When management realized he skied with, and as well as, the instructors, they asked him to join the instructor team (refused). An all around good guy and club supporter, Dave will be missed.

2024-2025 Elections For Members

The voting deadline is TODAY - April 23, 2024 - 5:30 PM Eastern Time (US & Canada).

You should have received a voting instruction email on 04/20.

We are using an online election system to tabulate our votes. You have been assigned a unique access key which can only be used to vote once and your voting choices will remain anonymous. Do not forward your email.

Many of our members use Ikon to ski at nearby Sugarbush Resort, Killington Resort, Pico Mountain and a bit further Stratton Mountain Resort.

Our lodge was pretty full last night and also tonight as members catch some great spring skiing and the solar eclipse in nearby Burlington VT. Can you say Eclipse party? Members feel free to report back!
