“At first, I didn’t want to stay for the Homework Club class because I was very tired after a whole day in school. I’m so happy I decided to give the class a try... Thanks to Sra. Vicente, I was able to finish the U.S. history project and got a very good grade.” – Angelica

These words from a student in Empowering Kids Organization’s James W. Northrop After School Program show the importance of extracurricular support. Thanks to organizations like EKO, more students are receiving the assistance they deserve.

With help from our grant, EKO provided a Homework Club, a college readiness class, and an English as a Second Language course to 30 students in Summit. The students demonstrated increased engagement, improved organizational skills, and greater confidence discussing their educational and career goals.

We are proud to support EKO’s work in helping students build the skills and confidence they need for the future.

We love seeing our grants in action! Watch this remarkable clip of the Julius Tolentino Quintet at their December 7th LIVE! concert. Performances like these are a perfect showcase of our vibrant local arts community.

We’re proud to support New Jersey Jazz Society (NJJS) with grant funding for its 2026 LIVE! season. This support gives NJJS greater flexibility in hiring outstanding performers and presenting programs that inspire our community.

We’re grateful to partner with NJJS and help keep live music thriving in the Summit area.

We are grateful to The Summit Foundation for their recent grant that enables Bridges to focus more intentionally in Summit on homelessness prevention and housing stabilization for individuals and families at risk of losing their housing.

The expanded program will embed a housing-focused case manager into community locations where residents already seek assistance, including food distribution sites like GRACE and the Summit Public Library. By meeting people earlier, Bridges can identify housing risks, connect residents to resources such as rental or utility assistance, and help resolve issues before they escalate into eviction or homelessness.
