Summit Softball & Baseball League

Summit Softball & Baseball League Youth Baseball and Softball Organization in Summit, NJ Summit Junior Baseball and Softball is a not-for-profit all-volunteer organization established in 1971.

Tens of thousands of Summit’s children have participated in its programs since then. Each year SJBS fields over 100 baseball and softball teams for approximately 1,500 children for the Spring, Summer and Fall seasons. SJBS’ mission is to offer the best possible baseball and softball experiences to Summit’s youth from grades kindergarten through ninth grade by providing an environment that inspires learning, teamwork, skill development, sportsmanship and fun.

It's Senior Night! Event begins at 6pm, SHS. 6:30pm Divisional Game against Union.

SHS Varsity Softball has continued to attack opponents, extending their winning streak yesterday which now stands at 15 straight! The team is now ranked #4 in the State by NJ Athletics and #6 in the State by nj.com!

Let’s help them keep the momentum going and pack the stands for Senior Night, today Tuesday, April 28, under the lights at SHS. The event will begin by honoring three seniors (Blythe Hellings, Ilana Friedman, and Lynn Basaman, all SSBL alumni) at 6:00 PM, followed by a divisional game against Union at 6:30 PM.

Let’s support and congratulate our graduating seniors and see some great softball.

Stella Gagliardo, winner of the Summit Softball Fundraiser Contest will serve as bat girl. Stella is on the 2nd Grade Loblolly Curated Home and Gift Rams.

TODAY is the start of the 2026 SSBL Softball and Baseball spring season!
Join us at Opening Day at 9:45am.
Location: Memorial Park - Myrtle Field

- 9:45am: Arrive at park: All teams (Coaches/Players) should be dressed in their team uniforms.
- 10am: Parade Walk
- 10:30am: National Anthem
- 10:45am: Ceremonial First Pitch of the Season: Duke Baxter and Julia Blarr of Zoned Sports Academy

After the Opening Day ceremonies
- GRIT Performance will be conducting fun speed and agility drill training for all kids.
- Zoned Sports will be conducting a FREE coaches clinic for all coaches.
- Youth Umpires:
-- For those who still need equipment, equipment will be available for pick-up.
-- For those interested in preparing fields, there will be a short tutorial.

Food: Mr Chi & KONA Ice Truck will be available from 10am-12pm

PizzaFest Starts This Week!

We hope you are excited for PizzaFest! Here are the dates:
Wed. 3/18, 6pm-7:30pm, Baseball (1st & 2nd grades)
Thu. 3/19, 6pm-7:30pm, Baseball (3rd grade and up)
Fri. 3/20, 6pm-7:30pm, All Softball (1st grade & up)
Mon. 3/23, 6pm-7:30pm, All T-Ball (Baseball & Softball)

This is a fun-filled evening at the SHS Cafeteria, where players get to meet their coaches and teams, as well as receive their uniforms. Your player’s coach and team assignment will be sent through TeamSnap. When you arrive at the cafeteria, look for your team’s table!

We’re excited to share some great shots from our inaugural 3rd/4th Grade Rec Softball assessments this past Saturday.

A big thank-you to everyone who came out and to all the volunteers who helped make it such a success. These assessments were incredibly helpful as we held our draft on Sunday, and team formation for all softball divisions is now nearly complete.

Stay tuned for more updates, and we hope to see everyone at Softball Pizzafest on Friday, March 20 at 6:00 PM at the Summit High School Cafeteria.

Winter Softball and Baseball Rec Clinics are in full swing! ⚾️🥎

A big thank-you to the Summit High School Varsity team and the staff from Drew University for helping make these clinics such a great experience for the kids.
