Eligible 6th-graders at Lawton C. Johnson Summit Middle School can now apply to the PEP Program for 2026–2027. PEP supports students from middle school through college with tutoring, academic coaching, and college readiness support.

🎉👏 We are proud to celebrate three outstanding members of the SHS Class of 2025 for earning Advanced Placement Scholar Awards in recognition of their exceptional achievement on AP Exams during the 2024–25 school year!

✨ Congratulations to Jimena Chaves, who earned an AP Scholar Award (granted to students who receive scores of 3 or higher on three or more AP exams).

✨ Congratulations to Nicholas Fenelus and William Qiu, who earned the prestigious AP Scholar with Distinction Award (granted to students who receive an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams).

We wish Jimena, Nicholas, and William continued success this fall as they pursue their studies at Rutgers University, American University, and Purdue University, respectively. 💙💛

On Wednesday, we celebrated the Class of 2025 as they crossed the stage and closed out an unforgettable chapter. While the weather moved the festivities indoors, nothing could dim the joy, pride, and excitement of this special milestone.

During Spring Break, 7th - 9th grade students visited the Anne Frank Exhibit in NYC, where they engaged with powerful stories and historical artifacts that brought to life the experiences of Anne Frank and other victims of the Holocaust. The exhibit provided a moving reflection on the importance of human rights, tolerance, and the dangers of discrimination. The students also explored Union Square Park, where they observed the vibrant atmosphere of the city.
