True SC Hash Fundraiser!

When we fed over 800 folks the other day, we figured out we need to have a large amount of things on hand…and they’re not cheap!

We want to be able to provide our food free of charge to the organizations we support, which my family is lucky to be able to do out of our pocket.

But for these hard goods, we need some help!

To help support our mission, I (currently cooling) made 12 gallons of SC Hash. This is what would be known as an Orangeburg County hash, but is largely found in the Lowcountry.

100% pork butt for meats, you don’t need to worry about what’s in it.

With a donation of $45, you’ll get a free gallon. $12 for a free quart. Picked up at my house in the historic district (in a cooler).

Being a 501c3, you can be assured all the money will stay within the foundation.

We started just before 3 this morning and look forward to honoring and thanking our Veterans and First Responders at today’s Chip in for Heroes golf tournament.

As with everything we do, great food and tons of love with absolutely no charge to the organization.

With it being National Barbecue Day…we might as well get this thing going!

Welcome to the Summerville Wood and Smoke Foundation!

I built my first block pit at 9 years old.

Growing up in South Carolina, BBQ wasn’t just food. It was how we came together. Age didn’t matter. Kids were welcome at the same table as the adults. Nobody got up and left. We hung out all night, talked, laughed, and let the fire do its thing. Those nights shaped who I am.

Summerville is our home. My family is planted here, and this community means everything to us. We stay busy giving back in a lot of different ways, but this one is personal. The Summerville Wood and Smoke Foundation is my way of bringing what I grew up knowing right here to the place we love most. Food brings people together. And when people come together, good things happen.

Our mission is simple. We provide free BBQ for the nonprofits and community organizations doing the real work in Summerville every single day. The groups we trust. The causes we believe in. The people who make this town worth fighting for.

We are just getting started, and we are glad you are here.
