I'm a parent of two special needs children, one on the spectrum, and the other with speech apraxia.
Lizzy wasn't completely verbal until about 6 years old, even now it's difficult to understand what she's saying.
Even though she knows what she is saying, it takes time for her to articulate what she's trying to say.
