Summer break is winding down, but there’s still time to make a HUGE splash in our local community! We are challenging every girl and woman to complete at least one community service act before the school bells ring again.

The best part? Making an impact doesn't have to be complicated or take all day. Often, the smallest acts of kindness create the biggest ripples of change.

We’ve put together a few ideas that are incredibly easy to do this week! From helping local animals to supporting neighbors in need, there are so many simple ways to give back. 💖

Meet our July GEMpowerment Spotlight: Donna Dorner!

Donna is Cane Bay's ultimate go-to wildlife rescuer. For seven years she has dedicated her time every single day to giving a voice to the voiceless, rehabilitating everything from local waterfowl and baby deer to eagles owls and hawks. 🦉💙

Her passion for the community doesn't stop there. Donna is also the powerhouse behind the Cane Bay Clean Up, recently leading 191 volunteers to clear an incredible 8000 pieces of trash. Talk about community leadership in action!

Donna’s ultimate advice for our middle school GEMs is the perfect reminder of Resilience:
"Follow your heart and embrace your gifts. There will be days people tell you that you can’t, but with perseverance you can accomplish anything. Always tell yourself 'I am strong enough, I am worthy enough and I can do this.' "

As a local nonprofit, our heartbeat is to walk alongside these young women, giving them the tools, sisterhood, and mentorship they need to truly thrive.
