A message from Nicholas County's Finest:

This afternoon, first responders came together for the 9th Annual Nicholas County Shop with a First Responder. 236 local children were es**rted on a Christmas shopping experience. Law enforcement officers, firefighters, and EMTs from the following agencies participated this year:

• Birch River FD
• Craigsville FD
• Jan-Care Ambulance Service
• Nettie FD
• Nicholas County Sheriff’s Dept
• Redi-Care Ambulance Service
• Richwood FD
• Summersville FD
• Summersville PD
• US Forest Service - Monongahela National Forest
• West Virginia Natural Resources Police
• West Virginia State Police
• Wilderness FD

Thank you to the incredible associates and managers of Walmart Summersville who go above and beyond in hosting us. We would also like to thank Children's Home Society of WV for volunteering, and Gino’s for providing pizzas to the kids and first responders!

Our program ensures local children in need receive Christmas gifts they may otherwise not be able to afford, as well as fostering relationships with first responders. This is the largest "shop with a cop/first responder" event in WV, and none of this would be possible without the generous donations we receive from our community.

We would like to take this time to thank our donors for this year's Shop with a First Responder!

This will be our ninth year of providing Christmas to Nicholas County children who are in need, and our program would not be possible without your support. 100% of all donations we receive fund Christmas gifts for local children who otherwise may go without.

Our local chapter’s will be at the craigsville intersection this Saturday doing one last bucket brigade for Nicholas county shop with a first responder for local children’s Christmas charity. We know money is tight this year and that makes this all more necessary than ever.so come out and help in anyway possible heck throw the change out of your ashtray as you drive through everything helps . 🚑 Nicholas County Shop with a First Responder is a 501(c)(3) organization that assists Nicholas County children who are in-need with Christmas gifts. Local law enforcement officers, firefighters, EMTs/Paramedics, and other first responders es**rt children on a Christmas shopping experience that includes dinner and a visit with Santa.

🚒 This will be our 9th year of helping Nicholas County families who may otherwise not be able to afford Christmas for their children. We would not be able to accomplish this without the support of local businesses, churches, grants, fundraisers, and community members!

This afternoon, Nicholas County’s first responders came together for the 8th Annual Nicholas County Shop with a First Responder event, spreading holiday cheer to approximately 225 children in our community!

First responders from the following agencies helped make this day special:

It was to the chapter’s great pleasure that we were able to present Nicholas county Shop with A First Responder a Donation of $6000. We would like to thank the community, the private donors, everyone who put up with us standing in the middle of the road for our bucket brigade and everyone that helped through the year to make this possible. I hope you all know that that you made a lot of kids Christmas this year and we appreciate you.

We would like thank everyone that came out and supported the 5th Annual Nicholas County Shop with a First Responder Poker Run! We raised $1,660 together yesterday and along with a Bucket Brigade in downtown Summersville on Sept. 13-14, all proceeds will ensure that kids in need can have a nice Christmas morning!
