WV Veterans Formerly a restaurant page, we now advocate for veterans and dependant benefits. We share events, information, and resources for veterans and their families.

We span all across West Virginia and we hope to grow our participation within each community in West Virginia. We are Veterans supporting Veterans.

Congratulation to our Student Veterans of America Chapter! The organization was recently named Chapter of the Year by the Student Veterans of America organization at NatCon 2024.

“During the last year, the chapter has built a community of belonging for all student veterans on their campus, has advocated for veterans in their community and in West Virginia, and has established Marshall University as a place for veterans in higher education. This achievement not only reflects their outstanding accomplishments, but also showcases the true spirit of Student Veterans of America.” - Jared Lyon, president and CEO of Student Veterans of America

As I work alongside 7 other veterans from across the country in the VFW-SVA Legislative Fellowship, I want to continue highlighting what we are advocating for in Washington, DC.

It's disheartening to see many of my fellow service members falling through the cracks despite the availability of multiple programs designed to assist veterans. It's important to understand the underlying reasons behind this and ensure that no veteran is left behind.

To address this urgent issue, we are working with both sides of the aisle to promote the Not Just A Number Act (S. 928). This proposed legislation would require the VA to improve its benefits system to reach past the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) and into the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA), with a focus on preventing veteran su***des. The bill mandates a comprehensive analysis of the VA benefits that have the most significant impact on su***de prevention and the development of a plan to optimize their utilization.
By taking a proactive approach, we can bring about real change and provide the necessary support to those who have served our nation.

As the VFW-SVA Legislative Fellows continue to work towards reducing su***de within the veteran and military community, we ask for your support. Please reach out to your elected officials and encourage them to support S. 928, Not Just a Number Act. Let's fight the battles here at home and prevent the loss of our brothers, sisters, sons, daughters, mothers, and fathers. Pass S. 928, and let's continue the battle against veteran su***de.
