There is no denying Sulphur needs affordable housing but is this really going to be affordable? Is this the answer and what is right for our town? I don't have the answers for this. These are just questions I would ask.
Pray for our councilmen that they will seek guidance from the Lord for each and every decision and vote they make. May each one of us look into our own hearts, motives and put away all selfishness. When I speak of selfishness, we must all look at the reasons we are for it or against it. It is so easy to let selfishness, pressure, friends and other influences cause anyone of us to make impulsive decisions. If each one of us would put Jesus and his way first, can you just imagine the harmony our town would have?
As I typed this Isaiah 55:8-9 popped into my head, but to begin with verse 6 is the key and that is to seek the Lord.

I was sent this today. Meeting is tonight at 6pm at the Artesian.

Voting Day! Could today be the day of change? Today our hearts and motives are put to the test. Every single person should ask, am I doing what is best for my town, or my friends, family or self.

Dan Gordon was voted in 8 years ago in April of 2018. If you attended the council meetings you would have seen how he doesn't ask questions and really doesn't add anything to the council except the 3rd vote needed for Peters and Cole to do what they want done.

Ide is fairly new to Sulphur and having people that have seen other ideas and how other areas of the country are ran, could be a good addition to our Council. Ide isnt part of any group. He is a man that has been to many council meetings and noticed things in our City.

UPDATE 12/11/25
We have been trying to get answers about these funds since Monday night's council meeting. We DO NOT HAVE much to go off of as of right now.
I contacted Banc First on Tuesday, and they led me to Crossway Church, who gave me 3 possible names. One was the one that was announced at the council meeting. I did give the church permission to pass my number to Mike Bradley. I have heard nothing back from Mike. I also contacted the Sulphur Chamber on Wednesday and gave them the other 2 names I was given. I also asked if they had any information. They didn't really have any knowledge. I will not release those other 2 names, only the one the City mentioned publicly. I still haven't heard anything back from the Chamber on the other 2 people or from the other 2 themselves.
It is to my understanding, that after they emptied the funds in the beginning more funds came in. Crossway no longer wanted to handle it at that time. Business leaders in the community were contacted and are now the ones that took over the disbursement. I have no idea if Crossway is still on the Bank Account, but something should have be made known to the public if it has been changed and that funds are out there. If someone else is holding the checkbook the tornado victims and donors deserve to know who.
You would think we would have heard about these funds by now. Tornado Victims and Donors deserve answers. These have been questions that have come about.
1. Why after nearly 2 years is this just now being made known? (I might add it wasn't really announced as a specific top. See original post below it was only made during an agenda item.)
2. Who is now overseeing it?
3. Why is it not being passed out equally like it was in the beginning?
4.How are decisions being made to determine if the person/business is in true need of the money?
5. Is it for individuals & businesses or only businesses? Rusty Nail is a business, so we know it is for businesses. If it is only for businesses, why was this decision made and who made it?
6. How does one apply for it?
7. Where is the transparency in how the funds have been spent, especially after Crossway passed it to business leaders?

If anyone has any information
Original Post 12/8/25
It was announced at the meeting tonight there is $45k for tornado victims. I believe they said Mike Bradley was the person for Rusty Nail to contact. Not sure of the qualifications but it was brought up when the Rusty Nail was talking about needing money to remove the walls.
I'm interested in knowing more about these funds and where they came from also how decisions are being made. I thought all funds had been disbursed. Hopefully more clarity will occur over the next few days. I will do my best to update any information received.

I really do not like having to make posts like these, but they must be brought to light. I will not stand by and watch a councilman and his wife try to scare and manipulate the Citizens of Sulphur because they didn't get there way.
What they posted is a lie and is a manipulative strategy to try to get people stirred up to cause unnecessary drama in our community. It is time for them to resign and stop hurting our town by causing division with their wrongdoing and lies.

Our State has The Competitive Bidding Act of 1974, which in emergency cases (water would apply as an emergency) the bidding can be waived by the City Council. (If I need to explain Emergency meetings, I can do that too.)
To clarify even more The Competitive Bidding Act still applies even though we are a Charter City. We as a City are to go by State Statute if there is a Statute on the topic, but we can be stricter when it comes to certain things. This is why our Charter is $1500 vs the State Statute of $25,000. We are stricter and due to all the current mismanagement of funds, we need to keep a tight fit on our City's financials. Those in power want freedom to not have to do competitive bidding for any amount lower than $25k.
Competitive Bidding not being followed is something that should show up in the audit because it has not been followed correctly for years.
We have ZERO trust, and they just proved why they can't be trusted with these posts. Using scare and manipulation tactics so they can get more power over the Citizen's money must come to a stop. Also to the people that liked it, stop being followers of the ones that are just using you and manipulating you because they don't want to lose their power. If they told you this to get you to vote yes, they manipulated you with a lie. Propositions should be used correctly and not used for more power.

Today is voting day!
Polls are open until 7 p.m.
Please consider Voting NO on ALL.
Let's wait to see what the Forensic Investigative State Audit reveals & the DA to complete the Investigation before we make any changes to the Charter.

If you haven't seen our previous post, there is more information on the story behind these propositions.
