Breakfast for a Brighter Morning

We’re excited to partner with Sempra Infrastructure for the second year in recognition of Hunger Action Month!

Leading up to their visit, Sempra Infrastructure employees will be collecting food to help stock Hope Refuge and support our ongoing efforts to provide meals and basic necessities to neighbors experiencing homelessness and hardship.

Then on September 15, they’ll bring those donations to SC3 and roll up their sleeves to serve breakfast at Hope Refuge!

We love this partnership because it goes beyond a food drive. It brings people together. Sempra Infrastructure employees are helping meet an immediate need while also spending time with the neighbors their generosity supports.

We are incredibly grateful to Sempra Infrastructure for choosing to partner with us again this year and for investing in our community in such a meaningful, hands-on way.

Together, we’re building hope and creating brighter mornings.

Meet Jeremiah, an IS Designer.

Every person who walks through the doors of SC3 has a story. Some are filled with victories. Some have hard chapters. Most are a little messy and colorful, just like all of our lives.

Jeremiah has a story, too. And we want you to hear it.

Through IS Designer, Jeremiah is taking his creativity and ideas and turn them into products of his own, but this is about more than making and selling products. It’s about recognizing the gifts people already have, giving them an opportunity to develop those gifts, and reminding them that their story is still being written.

We are so grateful for every staff member, volunteer, and community partner who helps make our Cooling Center possible. Your support allows us to keep our doors open and provide a safe place for our neighbors during these dangerously hot days.

But today, we want to give a special thank you to Sean and Penny!

Both have volunteered to work extra hours to help make sure our unsheltered neighbors have a cool place to rest, cold water to drink, snacks to enjoy, and people who care about them.

We believe faith is lived out in the way we love and serve others. Sometimes that looks like a big gesture, and sometimes it looks like simply being there: opening a door, offering a cold bottle of water, sharing a snack, and reminding someone that they are seen, valued, and loved by God.

Thank you, Sean and Penny, for being the hands and feet of Christ and showing His love through your willingness to serve. And thank you to everyone who makes it possible for SC3 to continue being a place of hope, dignity, compassion, and community.
