The Great Apple Crunch is a fun way to connect food and agriculture while encouraging healthy eating and supporting local food-purchasing initiatives! 🍎🍏

23 Carlisle 4th graders got to sample three different apple varieties, Gala, Granny Smith, and Golden Delicious, and vote for their favorite. While all three varieties had their fans, the Gala apple took the top spot!

Each October, the Indiana Department of Education and Purdue University Extension partner to bring “The Crunch Heard Around the State!” to life, celebrating apples, healthy eating, and the importance of connecting students with the food they eat.

Write an essay about how you could use a favorite school subject, hobby or skill to help a space mission crew succeed. One winner from every Indiana county will receive a personalized Purdue 1 mission patch — and your name could fly to space!

We still have several Sullivan County and Indiana State Fair 4-H projects, 10-Year Member banners, and past Achievement Awards that have not yet been picked up!

As a reminder, all Indiana State Fair and Sullivan County 4-H Fair projects that have not been picked up by November 1 will be disposed of.

Items are available for pickup during regular office hours: Monday–Friday | 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.

And just like that… National 4-H Week is a wrap!

This week we’ve celebrated the projects, memories, friendships, experiences, and opportunities that make 4-H so special.

But the best part? 4-H doesn’t end when the week does.

The friendships continue.
The learning continues.
The projects continue.
The leadership opportunities continue.
The memories continue.

Thank you to every 4-Her, family, volunteer, leader, supporter, and community member who helps make 4-H possible. 💚

It’s Future Friday during National 4-H Week!

Join some of our Sullivan County 4-Hers, Mini 4-Hers and Junior Leaders, as they lead us through the 4-H Pledge!

These members are more than the future of Sullivan County 4-H. They are becoming Beyond Ready for whatever comes next. Through 4-H, they are building confidence, discovering new interests, developing leadership skills, serving their communities, and gaining the experiences they need to be ready to lead, serve, build and conquer their futures.

We can’t wait to see where their 4-H journey takes them!
