Butchering the meat

Troop 1101 learning about the tools needed and the process of butchering. This Saturday the troop will process a hog and put some of those skills learned into practice.

Today, we praise God for the duty and ability to serve the veterans of our armed forces. The members of troop 1101, Gathered hygiene, and comfort materials and bagged them for delivery to the Matoon VA CBOC this morning at 10. There are many veterans living among us in our communities who have food and financial insecurity.
The boys were also asled to sign the Star of Unity, which will be displayed at Danville veterans administration hospital.

Today troop 1101 embarked to the Illinois State Military History Museum at Fort Lincoln Springfield Illinois. The museum is a fantastic resource that is free of charge for the public. They have many artifacts dating from the French and Indian war (King Philips War) and every U.S. war and conflict up to the Global War on Terror.

We were blessed to be joined by our LCMS District President, Reverend Michael Mohr.

It was a wonderful time, and the boys enjoyed portillo's for lunch.

Unfortunately the young eagles event tomorrow is cancelled due to the weather and rescheduled to May 11.
