Hello, my name is Rollie, and I'll be auditioning for the part of Sandy in Annie. Or Benji in... Benji. I could even be an understudy for Asta, Tramp, or Toto, although, at 50 lb, the bike basket might be a tight squeeze.
I'm a very versatile boy, you see- take me to the groomer and I would probably come back looking like I've had a Princess of Genovia makeover. Don't take me to the groomer, and I'll stay about this level of charmingly scruffy.
I can work with all kinds of people: two-legged people, canine people (just don't ask me to share my snacks)... I've even lived with mini pigs! I've lived with cats, but my people said I barked at them, so take that as you will.
I love being outdoors, so if you've got a performance coming up in an amphitheater or, like, a Shakespeare in the Park kind of thing... I'd be delightful in a non-traditional Twelfth Night.
You want prop comedy? Well, guess what- I happen to love toys! And if you need someone to hit the high notes? You've got it. I'm neutered.
So whether you're looking for a company member in your troupe of players or just... y'know... a really good dog, I'm your guy!
Once again, I've been Rolly, I'm two years old, I'm neutered, I'm about 50 lb, and I'm neutered, up to date on shots, and fully vetted. I'm available for adoption through
Open Door Animal Sanctuary

Well, the dog I had scheduled to post today got adopted! So, given that I'm in a time crunch, it's time once again to shamelessly plug my incredible foster, Rugby.
I can't believe Rugby has spent three years in rescue, waiting for a home. People are SERIOUSLY missing out.
Rugby is the best boy. He's cuddly. He's housebroken. He can be left home alone while I'm at work and he just chills out and plays with his toys. He's four years old and athletic enough to be a fantastic walking buddy, but mellow enough that he doesn't need tons of exercise to be happy and well-behaved.
Rugby will greet you at the door with a toy and a wagging tail. He loves taking his toys on walks, much to the delight of everyone he meets (who wouldn't want a dog who carries his own scimitar?). He's super sweet, lots of fun, and an "easy keeper."
Rugby gets along well with other dogs (with the exception of males bigger than 50ish lb) and has lived successfully with cats. He's the best boy in so many ways!
The reason Rugby has waited so long for a home? Quite simply, he's scared of strangers and other scary people (like little kids and men with ungentle vibes). He warms up within a few days and becomes the sweetest best friend, but that initial meeting is never going to be the love-at-first-sight fireworks that most people want. He's one thousand percent worth the truly minimal amount of patience it takes to earn his trust.
Rugby is available for adoption through St. Louis Senior Dog Project (it's a bit of a collaborative situation) and you can find an application at stlsdp.com . He is neutered and up to date on shots.

Help us save Cocoa's mobility and give her the future she deserves!
Cocoa is a five-year-old chihuahua mix who came to Open Door Animal Sanctuary when her people were unable to provide basic care for her. Shortly after her arrival, she began to show signs of paralysis in her back end. A neurology consult and an MRI at The Animal Neurology Center showed a herniated disc in her spine and she needs surgery right away to correct it.
Cocoa is a happy, healthy, friendly, and active small dog who could have a beautiful life ahead of her. She loves to cuddle and make friends and she LOVES going for walks. The bill for her care is currently sitting at a whopping $9,000. We are a completely donation-based nonprofit animal shelter, so we depend on help from people like you to be able to provide dogs like Cocoa with the lifesaving help they need!
Let's get Cocoa walking again so that she can be adopted and finally begin to live the good, spoiled, healthy and happy life that she so deserves.
