Moon Eagle River Ranch. Veterans Victory Alliance, just wrapped up day 2 of our 2026 Missoula Vets Center Women’s retreat. The ladies found refuge from the rains outside in each others company and in the care of the many who gave of time and talent to support. Day 1 was the beginning of the drum making experience- which will culminate tomorrow when they hear their drums unique voice for the first time and then the collective sound in unison. Our dear friend and Chaplain Sedona Montelongo joined us from Arizona to lead us and share her passion for helping others through this powerful activity.

Meals prepared by executive Chef and US Navy Veteran Tim Zehnal and his superb support team Lacy and Dana, were a culinary experience we are all still in awe of. Their passion to provide memorable meals as a full component of the weekend was/is pure gift.

Our evening ended with a beautiful sound bath session by Christina Harrell of Darby and set the tone for a beautiful nights rest.

Day 2: Today our Vet Center leaders Meaghan and Tina adapted to the weather and after a restorative yoga session by Ronda Lang in our Cantina, some women visited a local hot spring while others went on a breathtaking hike on the East Fork Trail of the Bitterroot National Forest. Huge thanks to Army Veteran and EMT Danielle C**n for looking after us all and joining. The camaraderie was beautiful-

Our long time friend of the Arts and supporter Trish Becker then shared her passion for nature journaling and basic techniques which were applied to special nature scenes in journals. Always a favorite!

All of these activities, the materials and preparations were given from the hearts of our donors and volunteers. Project Healing Waters team stood ready with Fly Tying and casting although the river was not cooperative. They jumped in and were fully part of our team in every way.

No words could convey the beauty of seeing Sister Veterans connect and share, as well as the humble beauty in the hearts of our volunteers. We will post more tomorrow for our 3rd day.

This month, this day, and every day, it's OK to not be OK. We all have days when we are not OK. The key is to talk it out. If you need help, reach out to a friend, a loved one, any of us. If you see someone struggling, reach out. You matter. Your life matters. We are here for you.
