Chassahowitzka Community Catch Fishing Tournament Comittee Scholarship Applications are now being acceepted.

The Chassahowitzka Community Catch Fishing Tournament Committee is accepting scholarships from Chass residents of all ages for sports camps, summer camps, trade school, college. We will consider other venues that will help you achieve your goals for your educational endeavors. This includes camps and classes at the Citrus County YMCA.

If you know someone in Chass who is or is considering enrolling in a camp, going to college, or just taking a class, encourage them to apply.

The 2025 Chassahowitzka Community Catch Fishing Tournament has been cancelled.

We are sorry that this year’s tournament is cancelled but we hope to be back next year with more volunteers to help plan and help with the tournament as well as a plan for the use of the funds we raise that will benefit the Chassahowitzka Community.

Thank you for your support and we look forward to being back next year.

The Chassahowitzka Community Catch Fishing Tournament Committee has established a Hurricane Relief Fund. We hope this may assist some of our residents who have been impacted by this year’s hurricane season.

Hurricane Relief
Up to $500 per Chassahowitzka family is available to Chassahowitzka residents who incurred any damage to their home in Chassahowitzka from Hurricanes Debbie, Helene or Milton that was not covered by insurance or FEMA. A brief description of damage with receipts or estimates of repairs/replaced items and name, address and phone are required. At this time, we are accepting requests only for homes in Chassahowitzka. Requests for vacation homes, AirBNB's and river cabins will not be accepted.

Congratulations to our first two scholarship recipients!

Karizma Tressler who has enrolled in an online Teacher’s Aid with Para Pro Prep at Florida A & M University. The online course will prepare her to become a certified teacher’s aid.

Oaklynn Butcher received a scholarship to take the Self Rescue Swim Lessons at Pediaquatics.

Thank you to everyone - sponsors, anglers, volunteers and the community of Chassahowitzka for making the 8th Annual Chassahowitzka Community Catch a success. We raised more than $20,000 this year.

Chassahowitzka Helping Hands has been established to give a hand-up to Chass families who may need emergency financial assistance - More to come.

We have also renewed our commitment to financially assist Chassahowitzka Civic Association which is taking legal action to reopen the Community Center for all citizens of Chassahowitzka.
