What an amazing day for the Tusc Parks Follow the Flock 5K race at the Norma Johnson Center. The trails were soggy from the rain but runners said it made the race more interesting with the mud and water. We were so happy to see familiar faces return to the course and bring their friends along. We had new racers who said they would be back. The course is a challenging one but greatly appreciated by the racers. We are so glad to hear the appreciation for the race.

A huge shout out to our volunteers who made everything run smoothly. Without you we would be lost. Thank you to Carson Zoller Media for sharing his talents with us to capture moments in time of our event. We would also like to thank Yellowbrick on 39 for opening up their venue to help us host this 5K event. And last but not least without Gregg from Champ Racing we would not be able to run our race with ease.

We would also like to extend our gratefulness to our sponsors who made this event possible. Swiss Valley Fence, Gebhardt Financial, Yellowbrick on 39, Edward Jones-Sugarcreek, Tuscarawas Insurance Agency, Pinnacle Foot and Ankle Center, Allied Machine and Engineering.

The Tuscarawas County Park Department (TuscParks) invites the public to the Brandywine Center Open House on April 16, 2026 from 12 to 6PM. The newly remodeled Brandywine Center (the old Brandywine Grange) is not only our new office location, but also offers a community room for the public to use.

Come see the new space, meet our staff, and local photographer Noah Strickler. Noah has graciously donated his work to TuscParks to be displayed on the sound panels around the community room.

Stop by and learn more about the TuscParks, our upcoming events, the Norma Johnson Center and Ohio and Erie Canal Towpath trail.

The Brandywine Center is located just down the road from the Conservation Drive entrance of the Norma Johnson Center. The address is 4820 Old Rt. 39, Dover, OH. Any questions, please contact the office at 330.365.1221.

Due to flooding on the towpath, the TuscParks “Dog Days of Spring” event on April 11, 2026 from 1 to 3PM will be moved from the Canal Lands Park Trailhead to the Fort Laurens Trailhead. A meet and greet for participants will be set up at the picnic shelter closest to the Fort Laurens Trailhead. There is a Fort Laurens event at the museum, but TuscParks staff will be at the picnic shelter near the trailhead.

Participants are encouraged to come dressed like their pet. A door prize raffle will be held for those participating in the hike. A huge thank you to Fort Laurens Museum for allowing us to host our event at their location and Valley View Animal Hospital for providing a gift basket for raffle.
