If you’re planning to be on the Tennessee River this Saturday evening, be aware that the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency will be conducting a boating compliance checkpoint in Decatur County.

The checkpoint is scheduled for Saturday, June 27, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. near River Mile 145.5 on the Tennessee River.

TWRA officers will be checking boats for required safety equipment, registration compliance, and other boating regulations. If you’re headed out on the water, make sure your paperwork is up to date and your safety gear is on board.

Safe boating starts before you leave the dock.
