The Chris “CJ” Johnson Foundation, Inc. is saddened once again by the devastating loss of another RMC Warrior, Dr. Kelly Moore, who passed away on August 20, 2026.
Our President, Ritchie Johnson, had the privilege of personally meeting Kelly, her sister Kimberly and accompanying her to one of her appointments at MD Anderson Cancer Center. Kelly had such a beautiful personality—warm, kind, intelligent, and full of grace. Her presence left a lasting impression.
One of the blessings we are especially grateful for is that Kelly lived long enough to experience a very special milestone: she was able to take her son to college for the first time. As a mother, that moment undoubtedly carried tremendous meaning, and we are thankful she was able to share it with him.
Dr. Kelly Moore was a clinical psychologist licensed in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. She served as Director of the Center for Psychological Services (CPS) and Associate Professor in the Department of Clinical Psychology at the Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology (GSAPP). Before joining GSAPP in December 2020, she served at Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care as Principal Investigator and Program Manager for the Children’s Center for Resilience and Trauma Recovery, a SAMHSA-funded community treatment and service center.
Kelly dedicated her life to helping others, particularly children and families navigating trauma and adversity. Her professional accomplishments were remarkable, but to those who knew her, she was so much more than her credentials. She was a mother, a professional, a daughter, a friend, and a beautiful soul who made an impact during her time here.
The RMC community continues to experience heartbreaking losses far too often. Each warrior leaves behind a story, a family, a legacy, and people who love them deeply.
Rest peacefully, Dr. Kelly Moore.
Your life mattered. Your work mattered. Your love for your son mattered. And your memory will continue to live on.
With deepest sympathy and love, we extend our prayers and heartfelt condolences to Kelly’s son, family, friends, colleagues, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Forever an RMC Warrior. Forever remembered. 🧡💚
