Anne McCormick Sullivan Foundation

Anne McCormick Sullivan Foundation The Foundation was started in her name with the purpose of assisting women in pursuit of a career in professional firefighting.

The Anne McCormick Sullivan Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization established to provide scholarships and guidance for women pursuing a career in the fire service. The Anne McCormick Sullivan Foundation is a non-profit organization founded in 2014 after the Southwest Inn fire tragically took the lives of four Houston Firefighters, including Anne. Anne gave her life doing what she loved a

nd what she knew she wanted to do since the age of 17. She would want nothing more than for other women to be able to follow their dreams as she did hers. In a male dominated industry, women make up only around 4% of the nation's firefighters. Unfortunately, with these sorts of statistics, women can sometimes feel swayed from pursuing this type of career. We hope to increase that number by giving opportunities to women who are pursuing education and training in the firefighting industry. Anne was so passionate about firefighting, and to be able to encourage and support fellow women who have the same passion, would allow Anne's legacy to live on in each and every one of you.

Okay so last week I worked on two of my pages that needed a lot of attention.

The first one is the Presumptive Illness LODD page. It went down last year and just recently between myself and Chris Whitehead we repaired and it went from a massive train wreck to a functional web page. yea

Here is the Link:
https://www.houstonfirememorial.org/Other_items_on_this_web.htm

The other one is brand new and it is the listing of all the deceased Fire Chief's from 1895 to present.

The link for that one is:

Okay time for an "Inspiration Wall" post.

I spend a lot of time at my computer. Most of you have figured that out. These photos I am posting are on the wall where I sit. If i am having any kind of issue that is where my eyes go. The one in the left corner is Anne Sullivan's "thumbs up" photo. I look at that on first and feel better immediately! And it has been awhile since I posted this.!

Also check out my HFD Fire Memorial website.

Anne, Happy 37th Birthday, in heaven, you have a lot of great HFD firefighters to hang out with. We all miss your presence, but you are always with us in spirt!!

Here are some photos I would like to share. The last two are from my HFD Pictorial History book I did in 2014. I asked Anne;s mom do this And to this day I cant read it without tearing up. That process was very emotional for both of us,and Mom did a great job!
