UPDATE FROM TXDOT ON BRAZOS RIVER BRIDGE RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT:

NEXT Friday March 6th marks the transition between the SB and NB work on the Brazos River bridge fortification project.

Starting that Friday (3/6) evening, and continuing throughout the weekend, US 59 will be FULLY shut down in both directions - only feeder roads open - to restripe the SB main lanes and move all the equipment and concrete barriers to OPEN the SB main lanes and begin work on the NB construction.

**Starting Monday, March 9th, the NB feeder road and 2 lanes of the NB main lanes will be shut down to begin the next phase.**

They are expecting the access road & bridge to be shut down for 12 months, followed by a shorter (4 months?) project to complete the remaining NB mainlanes. The entire project is slated to be completed sometime in the middle to late-middle of 2027.

PLEASE READ - IMPORTANT INFORMATION FROM LCISD PD RE: EBIKES ON THE TURF AT OUR NEIGHBORHOOD SCHOOLS

Good afternoon,

I am currently assigned to Dickinson Elementary School and Previously Campbell Elementary school as the campus police officer. It has been brought to my attention by several residents of Greatwood as well as parents about the use of E-Bikes on the turf.

Signs are currently in the process of being made that will say no motorized vehicles posted on each gate around the turf.

Can you please put something out to the Greatwood Residents either in the Greatwood Newsletter or on Facebook as a reminder that No motorized vehicles should be used on the turf.

We as a campus have already sent this communication to parents at Dickinson and Campbell, however I think it might be the Jr. High and High school kids utilizing them the most. Please let me know if I can be of any assistance.

Thank You,
Katherine Wooldridge

Pool 2 Updates! Temporary Closure

Hello Lap Lane and SAYOR Swimmers,

As the Board continues its efforts to enhance the community pool facilities, please be advised that Pool 2 will be closed starting August 11, 2025, to make some needed repairs. This project includes replastering, leak repairs, and general facility maintenance.

Pool 1 was already slated to be open weekends only once LCISD is back in session, also effectively August 11th. However, in order to accommodate more residents during this time, we are making Pool 1 available for those swimmers with appropriate waivers.

For August 11th through September (or until Pool 2 repairs/renovation is complete):
• Mondays – Pool 1 is closed to all parties
• Tuesdays – Fridays
o Lap Lane Swim (w/ signed waiver) from 5 AM to 10 AM
o SAYOR Swim (w/ signed waiver) from 10 AM to 4 PM
• Weekends & Labor Day Monday (9/1) – pool is open to any swimmers, with lifeguard coverage, from 12 to 8 PM

Please note:
• All existing pool rules remain in effect at Pool 1. However, the diving boards will NOT be available for use.
• Signed waivers must be on file for lap lane & SAYOR swim access.
• Access is limited to residents 18 years or older.

We anticipate the work will take approximately five to six weeks to complete. Thank you for your understanding and continued cooperation as we work to improve your pool experience.
