Scouts BSA Troop 5109

Earlier this month Troop 5109 took 33 Scouts to Camp Rainey Mountain for a week of incredible adventures filled with laughter, challenges, and unforgettable memories. Watching them step outside their comfort zones, build new skills, encourage one another, and grow in confidence reminded me why Scouting makes such a lasting impact. A huge thank you to all of the leaders who took time off so that these Scouts could attend camp.

There are hundreds of pictures of all of the fun! So Troop 5109 will post several of our favorites over the upcoming week. Here's a few to get you started.

Troop 5109 had a fantastic weekend at Camp Rotary. The weather was beautiful. First adventures for newly crossed over Scouts. Chances to practice and teach camp skills for experienced Scouts. Not to mention the oh so beautiful sunrises over the water!

Thank you Camp Rotary! We will be back!

Come see Troop 5109 at Scout Show!!!! Saturday May 2nd in Downtown Flowery Branch!

We’re excited to have Scouts BSA Troop 5109 from Buford Presbyterian in Apalachee District, NEGA BSA joining us at Scout Show!

Stop by their booth to see creativity and skill in action:
• Paracord crafts and demonstrations
• Learn basic knots and techniques
• See how practical skills turn into useful, everyday items
• Talk with Scouts about their experiences and adventures

It’s a great chance to see Scouting skills come to life—hands-on, creative, and built to last.

Two of my favorite pics from last year. Taking 25 Scouts to Summer camp at Camp Old Indian. And the backpack to Glassy Lake. What adventures will Troop 5109 do next?

Troop 5109 had an amazing Merit Badge Campout at Bert Adams Scout Camp. Scouts could choose to participate in the Cooking Merit Badge (meals with recipes!), Orienteering, Disability Awareness, Wilderness Survival (ask us about fire!), Citizenship in Society, and Personal Fitness.

The 8 Scouts working on their Cooking Merit Badge didn’t just make one meal… or even two… and not just for their patrol either.
Nope.
They went full-on master chef mode and cooked for the ENTIRE event!!! 🔥🍳 Talk about leveling up their cooking game!
A little rain couldn't stop them from finishing up the campout with some Scout skill events!
