It is with an extremely heavy heart that I will not be able to continue the Peppermint Path. After much consideration and juggling professional and personal responsibilities, I do not have the time required to devote to the path. Please know this was not an easy decision, and I’m very sad about it. The last thing I want to do is let anyone down.

The last three years have been absolutely amazing, and I have so many precious memories. I pray that some precious were created for you as well.

The support from the community has been overwhelming, and I have been extremely grateful. Thank you again for everything.

Wishing each and every one of you the merriest of Christmases for many years to come.

Hello everyone. I know it has been quite some time since I have posted on this page. Unfortunately, it was hijacked and I just recently was able to get control back. If any of you have been through this, you understand the ordeal it has been to get it back. I know people who have been through this and had to make a whole new profile. I didn’t want to do that because of all the precious memories on this page.

You may recall last season ended with a contest. I lost access to the page before I was able to announce the winner.

I would first of like to say everyone who participated did an outstanding job and added so much joy to the path. Your participation is sincerely appreciated.

After tallying the votes on the post, the messages through messenger on this page and my personal page, text messages and emails, the scene with the most votes was the Harley Truck with Palm Trees by Happy Hour Glass Works.

One last company I would like to mention is Boxx Systems. The owner of Boxx is the one behind the scenes using heavy equipment for all kinds of needs, ensuring the wood for the fire, fixing things that break down, providing tractor and trailer for hayride, and the fixer of broken or accidentally cut electrical wires and Christmas lights (those pesky snippers can be aggressive at times). He may feel like he doesn’t have a choice with some of our demands, and that’s because he doesn’t. He does, however, willingly (or unwillingly) get it done. Thanks Steven for all you do. There are probably not enough words to say about this next business that has supported us and so many others. The Chic Fil A display has a magical fairy named Peg who you almost never see but somehow their site gets spruced up and hundreds of dollars of coupons for free items from the Chic Fil A Portsmouth Boulevard get replenished every night. We would like to send a special thank you to Jacob Hunnicut. This is the second year he’s placed a display in our path. I hope you saw his tree appropriately decorated with all kinds of tools that we may or may not have borrowed when we got in a pinch. Jacob is a very nice, honest young man with a growing family. He can build or repair anything in your home “from the foundation to the roof” please contact him for your honey do list that’s not getting done or for any repair, remodeling, or building needs you may have. He was so kind when I told him our ticket barn door was not closing properly. After he finished his display, he came over and fixed it for me!! It’s the little things!! Thank you Jacob! The next person I would like to recognize is Mrs. Kelly Terry. She is the Angel behind the “Angels Among Us” tree. This tree has grown substantially over the past three years. The first year there were approximately 200 angels. The second year, there were over 300. This year there were over 600 angels on this beautiful 12’ tree that was the center focal point of The Peppermint Path. There were many very emotional moments by this tree. We are honored to host this tree and it is such as special tribute to our loved ones. Thank you so much Kelly for your time and effort on this significant, meaningful tree. Before this group reached out to us I never even knew they existed. This is the Tidewater Parents of Multiples organization. This is a wonderful group for families who have twins, triplets or more. This group serves as a catalyst to help and encourage families with multiples. They have consignments, pass gently used items throughout their group to help each other out, and this is another great way for parents and children to socialize, share experiences, and offer advice and support. They built a very nice display in our path. If you or someone you know would be interested in this kind of support group please check them out. Thank you so much to the staff who not only created this display but maintained it throughout our season. Mother nature was not always very kind to many of our displays and it was extremely helpful and appreciated that this wonderful group made many trips out here to make sure that their display was always tidy and ready when we were open.
