🐾 Meet Finn! ❤️
Finn is a 2-year-old, 12-pound sweetheart looking for a patient person to help him blossom.

This little guy is still building confidence and learning to trust his world. He’ll do best with someone who understands that good things take time and is willing to celebrate the little victories along the way.

Finn is working on his potty training and will need a consistent routine, regular grooming, and a securely fenced yard. In return, you’ll have the opportunity to help a deserving little dog discover the joy of a loving home.

Could you be Finn’s fresh start? 🐶💕

Finn is neutered, and his adoption fee is $210. A completed application, home visit, veterinary reference, and securely fenced yard are required.

Our hearts are with our dear friend Deborah Askew and Potomac Creek's Tillie the Therapy Dog, following the loss of their beloved Kenny. We are keeping them in our thoughts during this difficult time.

We would also like to thank Tim Johnson of Johnson's Gardens Inc. for creating such a beautiful floral bouquet in Kenny’s honor from all of us at the Suffolk Humane Society. The arrangement was truly lovely and a meaningful tribute.

Sending love and comfort.

Richard Parker had been adopted from us several years ago. He recently returned to our care after his owner became very ill. Life had changed in ways neither of them could have anticipated, and we promised his mom we would help him through the next part of his journey.

Today, Richard Parker was adopted!

We think about the years between those two adoptions.

The life he shared with someone who loved him, the difficult decision to let him go, and the SHS team who helped keep him safe on his journey.

In rescue, we talk a lot about second chances. Sometimes, it’s something more. It’s a promise kept.

There are many wonderful adoptable pets like Richard Parker waiting for their opportunity.

Maybe the pet who needs you is young. Maybe they have a little history. Maybe life took a turn they never saw coming.

Come meet them. We’ll be here to help you find the one who feels like home. We schedule adoptions and meet and greets 7 days/week and in the evenings.
