Friends of Michael, a 501(c)(3), supports the artistic growth of the youth in the Greater Hartford area by providing opportunities of inspiration and education of music, theater, and the arts through a variety of community partnerships and programs. Upon graduating from Suffield Academy, NYU, and Brooklyn Law School, Michael embarked on his career as an Attorney in New York and Delaware after pass
ing the New York State Bar. He had a fierce intellect and a true core of kindness. Michael was an accomplished guitarist, who loved all types of music, particularly the Grateful Dead, and attended endless concerts over the years. We all miss him terribly but his legacy will live on through Friends of Michael, an organization that he would have been truly proud of while supporting music, one of his greatest loves. Proceeds from the annual Michael E. Simmons Celebration of Life Concert at Suffield Academy benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Hartford and Hartford Stage.
