A text came in last night for a family in need for a bedside potty. We are usually on the other end of the lifespan but if we can help…we will! Quick call to a good friend, and not only a potty but a hospital grade table! So very grateful for those who are able to help!!! Thank you Margaret! ♥️

Lots of updates!!! Although we have been quiet on social media…so much has been going on. We are revamping the website…our mission has expanded beyond just foster children. We noticed so many families in need. If we could just help to make life a bit easier…then we are here to help! Donations have been coming in and so much going out. After speaking to our Mayor…we are going to hold a Back to School shopping event where families could shop with dignity for needed items. All items will be free of charge! Plus lots of more goodness in the works which would not be possible without everyone’s generosity!

Biggest news…after 3 years, many ups and downs…our little man is finally a King! When we became foster parents we didn’t know this day would come…but in April 29th it became a reality! Open adoption allows even more love for this little man!!! ♥️

If asked if I believe in Santa…the answer would be YES! Earlier this week I posted about a young girl entering foster care without much to call her own! At Fostering Ubuntu we focus on babies, toddlers & young kids…so I didn’t have the items on hand YET I knew my village would.

For the last 3 days my porch has been filled with packages from real life St. Nick’s! They have shopped, gone through closets, spread the word, even donated directly so I could shop…and more than I could have ever hoped for was bought, collected and now delivered to the agency! So kindness and goodwill is so alive and although we may have thought we were helping a little girl…I think it was this child that taught us what a small community of determined helpers could do! Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays!!! May your blessings be great this holiday season as goodness follows you into the new year!!! ♥️

I would love to tag each if you but I worry I might miss someone…so from the bottom of my heart…thank you! Pictures do not even do this justice…plus my table didn’t even have enough room to unpack everything…amazing! ♥️

I wanted to take a moment on this Giving Tuesday to give thanks! A little over a year ago…our family began an organization called Fostering Ubuntu. We hoped to be able to help babies and young children entering the foster care system do so with dignity and also to allow foster parents access to needed items…while then having those items travel with the child when they return home. Never in my wildest dreams did I realize the generosity of my family, this community and people far and wide! Life has been busy and social media posts quiet but the magic is still happening! This wouldn’t be possible without the generosity of Sacred Heart Church Suffern NY allowing us to use a space to watch this dream grow! I want to thank each of you…whether you donated, referred, tagged me in a Facebook post, spread the word, said a prayer or simply believed in what we hope to accomplish…I thank you! ♥️

Lots of love over the last few weeks. Fostering Ubuntu has received high chairs, clothes, seats, books, diaper bags, oh my! Today a request went out for formula and without even knowing, Sacred Heart had received formula and asked if we knew of a family in need! It is wonderful how we are being watched over and guided! Good Morning!!! Fostering Ubuntu has been quiet for a bit…concussion followed by a house of Covid…fun times! But spring is here…fresh air, the donations have been rolling in and we are excited for all this season has to bring!!! Thank you to everyone who has donated recently, pictures will be posted over the next few days!

Big ask…if anyone has any extra formula they are not using and are willing to donate please let me know. I received a call yesterday from a kinship foster mom of a 4 month old that is in need. Given the current formula shortage…I expect more calls! Thank you to everyone for all you do to make a difference! ♥️ attached is an article about the formula shortage

Some parents are driving hours at a time in search of supplies. Others are watering down formula or rationing it, hoping for an end to the shortage.

This week I had the honor of working alongside these kind & giving kids! They are truly amazing! Between working on their bronze award for Girl Scouts, Honor Society hours and siblings who are super helpers…they moved mountains at Fostering Ubuntu. Also big thank you to Christine Cahill for always lending a hand ♥️

Today this came up as my memory from 3 years ago! Lunch bags were my way of teaching the girls something fun and sharing a little art! Love that this was todays memory because tomorrow Fostering Ubuntu has a exciting big announcement! ♥️

Happy Children’s Picture Book Day!!! So many great books to choose from...but two are really family favs! Molly used to ask to read Are You My Mother...except her cute voice sounded like she was a wise guy from Boston! It would make my heart melt!!!
Guess How Much I love You was one of many books from my baby shower that built our baby library. A momma knows that the love she has for her child can not be measured! A child may love their momma with all they’re heart...but honestly what is stronger than a mommas love! So these are why today’s bags knare these classic picture books!
