Please join us at noon today for our groundbreaking ceremony for our community Splashpad project!

It will be held at the site of the project, Sublette Recreation!

This project will feature a 2360 sq ft Splashpad with seven features and 5 additional sprays spread among a toddler bay, family bay, and action bay! There will also be a seating wall for parents.

The water used by the Splashpad will be captured and reused to water the soccer fields so that no additional water use will be needed to accommodate the Splashpad!

This project is funded solely through grants and donations requiring no local tax dollars!

You will also have the opportunity to purchase a commemorative personalized brick to help with out fundraising efforts! These bricks will be displayed on site!

We hope you will join us for the groundbreaking ceremony!

🎉 BIG NEWS FOR SUBLETTE & HASKELL COUNTY! 🎉

We’re excited to share that the Sublette Recreation Commission has been awarded a $170,750 grant through the Land and Water Conservation Fund, administered by the Kansas Department of Wildlife & Parks! 💦🌞

This funding will help make a community splash pad at the Sublette Recreation Center a reality—bringing a fun, family-friendly place for kids, families, and visitors to cool off, connect, and enjoy the summer months.

This project has been proudly championed by the Haskell County Rotary Club and reflects what can happen when a community comes together around a shared vision for recreation, wellness, and quality of life.

The splash pad expected to be completed in 2026!

We are incredibly grateful for the partnership and support from the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks and everyone who has helped move this project from vision to reality. Stay tuned—exciting things are coming to Sublette! 💙

The Haskell County Rotary Club recently honored two Students of the Month. Ian Garetson from Sublette was selected for September, and Noe Ramirez Munoz from Satanta was chosen for October.

Ian, pictured here with our club president, Nick Leon, was recognized for his outstanding academic performance, leadership skills, and commitment to servant leadership. The committee described Ian as a go-getter who goes above and beyond in any role he takes on. He is the son of Jarvis and Amber Garetson. Ian shared his involvement in numerous extracurricular activities and his love for baseball and socializing. He plans to continue playing baseball in college while pursuing a degree in accounting.

Noe, pictured here with Nick Leon and Satanta Principal Chuck Carpenter, was selected for his positive attitude and reliability in serving the school in any capacity. He often assists in the high school office, where he does a phenomenal job. Noe participates in several activities, including Scholars Bowl, where his team has enjoyed many successes. He also works after school every day. Noe plans to earn an accounting degree at GCCC and then continue to Fort Hays State University to become a Certified Public Accountant.

Congratulations to Ian and Noe! We look forward to following your achievements as you pursue your goals.
