Blackford Veterans Walk of Honor Now it is ran by a committee headed by the Judge Executive to oversee the Walk of Honor. A railroad once passed through where the trail is located today.

This project was a vision of Brent Witherspoon, a highly decorated Vietnam Veteran and former director of the Veterans Walk of Honor and Blackford Bridge project. oric bridge near the area. Now at present day a board of committee members headed by our current Judge Executive Perry Newcom invest their time, dedication, and labor into making sure Mr. Witherspoon's vision stays alive.

Join us for a morning of music, remembrance, and community as we honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

🎀 Live Music by Tim Rhodes (9:00 AM)
Come early, bring a chair, and enjoy an hour of music from West Kentucky’s own Tim Rhodes. His heartfelt country sound sets the tone as we gather to honor our veterans and remember those who gave all. It’s a time to connect with neighbors, share stories, and reflect before the ceremony begins.

We’re privileged to welcome Mr. Richard Kolodey, a 100-year-old WWII veteran, as our guest speaker.

🚧 Travel Note for Webster County Guests
The Blackford walking bridge is closed to vehicle traffic, but still open to foot traffic. If you’re unable to walk across, please drive around and enter from the Crittenden County side via Blackford Church Road.
