🥚 Millions of eggs are headed to Texas food banks after an investigation found three major egg producers conspired to drive up prices.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton announced settlements with Cal-Maine Foods, Versova, and Hickman's Egg Ranch that will result in more than 7 million eggs being donated across Texas as part of a broader 53 million-egg agreement involving multiple states.

The companies were accused of coordinating bidding activity to push egg prices higher. In addition to the donations, the settlements require new compliance measures aimed at preventing similar conduct in the future.
