We're recognizing Vietnam War Veterans Day, a day to honor the courage and sacrifice of the nearly 9 million Americans who served during the Vietnam era.

March 29th marks the date in 1973 when the last U.S. combat troops withdrew from Vietnam. This day gives us the opportunity to finally give these veterans the recognition and respect they deserved but didn't always receive when they came home.

Vietnam veterans served with honor in incredibly difficult circumstances. They answered their nation's call, and many returned to a country that didn't welcome them as heroes.

So to all Vietnam veterans: Thank you for your service, your sacrifice, and your resilience.
