What a great way to kick off the Leadership Door County Class of 2026–2027 journey! 👏

The class spent Monday and part of Tuesday at the Door County Adventure Center for their opening leadership retreat learning, challenging themselves, and most importantly, getting to know one another.

Tuesday afternoon, the group headed over to Door County Sand Box for an afternoon of connecting, axe throwing, and other fun group activities. 🎯🪓

It was a great couple of days filled with new experiences, plenty of laughs, and the beginning of what I’m sure will be some great friendships and memories throughout their 10-month journey!

Excited to see where this group goes from here! 🙌

This month's program session, Arts Day, gave our Leadership Door County class a chance to experience the creativity, culture, and talent that make our community so unique. From behind-the-scenes tours to conversations with local artists and organizations, it was a great reminder of how much the arts contribute to both our economy and quality of life.

Thank you to everyone who welcomed us and shared your passion with our group:

Midsummer's Music in Door County
PenArt
Northern Sky Theater
Peninsula Players Theatre

And shoutout to Door County Trolley, Inc. for getting us where we needed to go!

This month, our Leadership Door County cohort had the opportunity to explore the impact of healthcare across our community! The group had the opportunity to meet the people and organizations who care for Door County every single day.

Participants explored the full spectrum of local healthcare, from emergency response with Sister Bay Fire & Door County EMS to the preventative and community-wide impact of Door County Public Health. Stops at DCMC, N.E.W. Community Clinic, and Serenity Springs showcased how accessible, high-quality care is delivered across every stage of life.

Throughout the day, the group visited:
• Serenity Springs
• DCMC Clinic & Rehab
• Sister Bay Fire & EMS
• Door County Public Health
• Door County Medical Center
• N.E.W. Community Dental Clinic

Each stop highlighted not only the services available, but the dedication, innovation, and collaboration it takes to keep our community healthy.

A huge thank you to all of our hosts for opening your doors, sharing your expertise, and investing in the future leaders of Door County.
