The Tri-Community Exchange Club Mission is to inspire youth, empower teenagers and support families in our community with fundraisers, achievement awards and community supports. Comprised of vibrant and compassionate volunteers, we work together to support and strengthen our community in ways that have a lasting positive impact. How do we help:
The Tri-Community Exchange Club gives back to our lo
cal communities in many ways. Some of these programs include:
• The ACE Program (Accepting the Challenge of Excellence), which recognizes high school seniors that have overcome obstacles
• Young Citizenship Awards Program, which recognizes 6th grade students who give back to their community
• A Holiday Program, which provides gifts to local children and families in need during the holiday season
Fundraising:
The Exchange Club’s most notable fundraiser is Chowder Fest, which is held in Sturbridge, MA annually. Local restaurants volunteer their time and serve up their best chowder. Attendees sample their fare and vote for the winner. The 11th Annual Chowder Fest, held February 23, 2020, welcomed over 600 attendees! The winners for 2020 were:
1st Elm Center Café
2nd The Overlook
3rd Cohasse Country Club
The funds raised from this event were immediately put to good use in our community as the COVID-19 virus outbreak occurred. The club sprung to action by donating to our local food banks, senior centers and families in dire need and by showing gratitude to first responders and volunteers at local homeless shelters. How can you help? With just 12 strong members in the club presently, the direct impact that this organization has on our community is astounding. Imagine the good we can do with more helping hands! The greatest gift we can receive is time and energy from others in our community who wish to support others in need.
“We are small, but mighty.” – Sherri Bibinski, Tri-Community Exchange Club President
When do we meet? The Tri-Community Exchange Club meets every Tuesday evening at 8pm via Zoom. If you’re interested in learning more about the club or attending a meeting, please reach out to Sheri Bibinski at [email protected]
