Damage is done. (7/26/24 @1:18pm) You’d think Harvard-Westlake’s developer would have had the consideration to use wet street sweepers and covered their loads from the get-go.

“Don’t be useless….. just USE LESS” We are still fighting for actual green (not PFAS plastic) open space at Weddington.

Would you let your kid play on this stuff? California should be the leader in reducing PFAS.

PFAS in artificial grass + Skin Absorption = Athletes likely to have higher PFAS.

”Industry has said the grass blades and backing cannot be made without PFAS.”…..

A study of 17 commonly used synthetic ‘forever chemicals’ has shown that these toxic substances can readily be absorbed through human skin.

These guys are kinda starting early but guess how many more of these truck trips it needs to haul 197,000 cubic yards of dirt from grading?

Harvard Westlake Illegally destroyed LA County trees. Dayna Rothman, Head, Real Estate Los Angeles County Public Works: “We completed our site inspection and did discover some trees were removed from the Los Angeles County Flood Control District property without permission. We have notified Harvard Westlake to cease all construction activities on the District’s property” Please contact Supervisor Horvath’s office to request to terminate the existing lease regarding this property (4141 Whitsett)

With 240 mature trees eradicated from Studio City at Weddington, it’ll take new saplings from Harvard-Westlake’s River “Park” w/ airquotes 😉 20-25 years to re-create a cooling canopy (if they survive).

Extreme heat will strain power grids and threaten millions more Americans by 2050, a new report has found.

Let’s keep Harvard-Westlake accountable. This map was from a survey on April 20 and the buffers shown are only enforceable while the birds remain nesting. Based on the environmental attorney’s research, it appears the species found incubate the eggs in the nest for about 2 weeks and then the baby birds remain in the nests for at least 2 weeks. It is important to note that said survey was not yet approved by the City as of last week, so the buffer areas and recommendations may change.
I may add, L.A. is in season for migratory birds as well as it is prime nesting season for native species. These bird nest surveys will evolve the next few weeks. Please reference any tree reports to this map. Again, any photographic or video evidence would be appreciated.
