The Heads Up Youth Foundation was founded in 1997 by Rob Fukuzaki, the weekday sports anchor for ABC7 Eyewitness News in Los Angeles and the host of the post-game show, Sports Zone. The Heads Up Youth Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for underprivileged and at-risk youth in the Southern California area. The Foundation is committed to providing fun
ds to existing youth and sports-oriented organizations that provide a positive building block to underprivileged youth. The combined efforts of these organizations, along with the Foundation’s contributions, have assisted over 5,000 children to attend camps, events and mentoring programs - to participate in such activities they would have never had the opportunity to do so prior because of life's disadvantages. In addition to assisting existing non-profit organizations, the Heads Up Youth Foundation also partners with the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services to provide young adults, in the foster care system, scholarships to continue onto higher education. The Heads Up Youth Foundation is organized and operated exclusively for charitable purposes within the meaning of Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)(3). Donations are tax deductible to the extent allowable by law.
