Studio City Residents Association

Studio City Residents Association The SCRA is an all-volunteer membership organization that advocates for and enhances the quality of life in Studio City.

The SCRA’s volunteers educate our members and create a platform for the interests, concerns and passions regarding the SC community. The SCRA is the only organization in Studio City solely dedicated to working on behalf of its residents, who are homeowners, condo owners or renters. The SCRA also endeavors to provide a platform for the interests, concerns and passions of its members pertaining to q

uality of life issues in Studio City. The SCRA, with more than 1,200 households, has worked since 1962 as "Your Advocate for Studio City" to bring the community together and address issues and concerns that affect our neighborhoods. SCRA volunteers attend hearings, meet with local elected officials, distribute breaking news on issues impacting residents, produce a monthly community newsletter and carry out many other activities on behalf of its members. The SCRA is proud to have created and launched two separate non-profit organizations that remain its sister associations: Studio City Beautification Association and Save Los Angeles River Open Space. The SCRA is highly engaged in areas of importance to its members including:

-The SCRA is proud to bring the community the highly successful weekly Studio City Farmers Market, which the SCRA co-manages with the Studio City Chamber of Commerce Foundation.

-The Studio City Beautification Association (SCBA), one of SCRA’s sister organizations and funded in great part by the SCRA, is responsible for landscaping medians, maintaining the landscaping and planting street trees in certain areas in the community.

-Save LA River Open Space, formally known as Save Studio City Golf and Tennis, a SCRA sister organization, remains committed to preserving the Weddington Golf & Tennis facility as open space with grants from the SCRA, Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy, the Studio City Neighborhood Council and other local organizations.

-The SCRA is active on key land use and development issues that impact the community.

Our Story

The SCRA is an independent, all-volunteer, community-operated nonprofit powered by the support of residents like you.

In the early 1970s, a group of Studio City residents came together to fight plans for the proposed Laurel Canyon Freeway – a route designed to carry traffic between the central San Fernando Valley and LAX.

Concerned this project would wreak havoc on Studio City, residents banded together, mounted opposition, and won. The proposal was struck down – a defining moment for the Studio City Residents Association (SCRA).

Decades later, the SCRA remains on the frontlines of the critical issues facing our community – and we are busier than ever.
