My girl diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes. As you all know, raising our kiddos is always challenging and this has yet been another! However, our Ava and we, once again have all rose to the challenge! Her numbers have been great, she has lost 7 lbs and continues to be willing to make diet changes as she knows it will kick diabetes butt! That is our mantra! So proud of this girl!

Per Down Syndrome Foundation of Florida.

Did you know that when your son/daughter turns 3 you should register him/her with the Agency for Persons with Disabilities (APD)? Are you familiar with what services APD provides? Are you on the waitlist or receiving services and have a question you'd love to ask somebody from APD?

Tonight from 7pm-9pm we have our newest program called Do You Have a Minute? This month we will have a representative from APD on our zoom call to answer your questions. This is a great opportunity learn more about APD before our skating party on Monday, 9/19 where APD will be on-hand to help families submit their paperwork and officially register. There is a very long waitlist for services so you don't want to delay in getting him/her registered.

This week my daughter Faith taught her first dance class at FLorida Arts and Dance! She had attended dance camp there this summer and wanted one for people with Ds. She has danced at FADC since she was 10, 14 years. Three of her young adult peers were in the class. She choreographed a dance to Lion King and taught her students! This is a video of her class today.

I’ve been asked to have Faith teach a class of younger dancers, one 7 year old is interested. Faith will have a class of young adults 2 young men are interested. The details are not settled but it will be 45 min to an hour once a week at FADC, 569 SE Central Pkwy, Stuart.
