🌿 Our Peace Pole Is Officially Launched at the Mayo River Rail Trail!

After a few weather delays, we finally gathered yesterday to officially launch our Peace Pole at the Mayo River Rail Trail — a symbol that connects Patrick County to communities across the world who share the same hope: May Peace Prevail in the World.

Our pole features this message in eight of the top languages spoken in Virginia:
English, Spanish, French, Haitian Creole, Italian, Portuguese, German, and Greek.
Each language represents the diversity of our state and the spirit of unity we strive to uphold through Rotary service.

This project is part of the global Peace Pole movement, linking communities in more than 180 countries. Click below to learn more or explore where other Peace Poles stand around the world:

Our photo and listing will be posted soon on the website— making our Peace Pole officially part of the worldwide map — a reminder that peace begins with each of us.

The Stuart Rotary Club kicked off our new monthly service project, Rotary Readers, at Blue Ridge Elementary School today. We visited Mrs. Knight’s 2nd grade class and shared the story “Room on the Broom” with the students.

Each child received their own copy of the book to take home so they can continue reading and enjoying it with their families. The kids were all smiles, and we loved bringing a little joy and literacy into their day.

Thank you to Blue Ridge Elementary for having us! 📚✨

🍎 Clean Out Those Closets for a Great Cause! 👟

Rotary will have shoe collection boxes at the Apple Dumpling Festival on Saturday, October 17!

Bring along your gently used shoes of any kind and let us take them off your hands. It’s the perfect excuse to make a little extra room in your closet for those new fall and winter purchases! 🍂👢

We’re almost to the end of our shoe drive, so grab those bags of shoes and bring them with you to the festival!

Every pair helps us raise money for CART, which stands for Coins for Alzheimer’s Research Trust. CART is dedicated to funding cutting-edge research aimed at preventing, treating, and ultimately curing Alzheimer’s disease, with 100% of donations going directly to research. 💜

🍎 Enjoy the festival.
👟 Clean out your closet.
💜 Help support Alzheimer’s research.

It’s a win all the way around!

Thank you, Patrick County!

At Cup of Ambition day last Friday, our community showed up to keep books in the hands of Patrick county children!

Between visits to Stagecoach Coffee, cash donations, and online gifts, over $900 was raised! Every dollar helps secure Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library in Patrick county for the future.

Thank you to our partners and to our community for Giving Like Dolly on 9/25! Let’s do it again next year!!

Picked up a coffee at Stagecoach this morning and the cup read “Keep Going ❤️.” On Give Like Dolly Day, that message hits home.

Rotary is proud to partner with Stagecoach, Patrick County Chamber of Commerce, Step and One Family Productions to support the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, a program that keeps Dolly’s legacy alive by delivering books — and possibility — to children across Patrick County.

Today is the day to stop into Stagecoach and help us raise money for the Imagination Library, so it can keep providing books for our community for many years to come.

Let’s keep going, keep giving, and keep honoring Dolly’s light.

Today’s the Day — Give Like Dolly Day!

Good morning, Patrick County! We’re excited to celebrate Give Like Dolly Day today with our community partners — Rotary, STEP, the Chamber of Commerce, and One Family Productions — and our featured Cup of Ambition Day location, Stagecoach Coffee.

Stop by Stagecoach anytime today to enjoy your favorite coffee and support early childhood literacy. Customers can make an optional donation to the Patrick County Imagination Library, and Stagecoach will generously contribute a portion of today’s proceeds.

Every cup makes a difference. Your support helps provide monthly, age‑appropriate books to nearly 400 children across Patrick County. Together, we’re building a stronger, more literate community — one book, one child, one cup of coffee at a time.

Let’s make this a powerful day for Patrick County families.

Give Like Dolly Day is Coming Up!

We’re gearing up for Give Like Dolly Day on September 25, and our community partners — Rotary, STEP, the Chamber of Commerce, and One Family Productions — are excited to spotlight Stagecoach Coffee as the featured location for Cup of Ambition Day this Friday 9/25.

Give Like Dolly Day – Community Partners Supporting Local Literacy

On September 25, Stagecoach Coffee will serve as the featured location for Cup of Ambition Day, helping kick off our community fundraising effort in support of early childhood literacy in Patrick County. This initiative is a joint partnership between Rotary, STEP, the Chamber of Commerce, and One Family Productions, all working together to strengthen access to books for local children.

Customers can enjoy their favorite cup of coffee while making an optional donation to the Patrick County Imagination Library, and Stagecoach will contribute a portion of the day’s proceeds to the program. It’s a wonderful example of how community organizations and local businesses can unite around a shared mission.

Most importantly, your support helps provide books to approximately 400 Patrick County children, each receiving a new, age‑appropriate book every month through the Imagination Library. This is community partnership at its best — expanding literacy, supporting families, and investing in the future of our youngest learners.
