PASA Member Spotlight: Safe Monroe 🌟

Today, we are proud to highlight one of our valued PASA members, Safe Monroe—an organization dedicated to creating a safe and caring environment that encourages healing and empowerment for anyone whose life has been impacted by domestic or sexual abuse. This August, PASA had the pleasure of learning from Marissa Buatti from Safe Monroe about the signs of domestic violence and elder abuse. What an informative presentation!

💜 Safe Monroe’s mission is to engage the community through awareness, advocacy, and prevention while providing FREE and CONFIDENTIAL services to victims, survivors, and family members affected by domestic and/or sexual abuse.

Since its establishment in 1980, Safe Monroe has continued to grow and expand its services to meet the needs of individuals and families throughout our community.

Abuse knows no boundaries. Women, men, children, teens, LGBTQ+ individuals, young and old—anyone can be impacted by domestic or sexual abuse, and anyone can be eligible to receive services through Safe Monroe.

Whether you are experiencing abuse, supporting a loved one, or simply looking for information, Safe Monroe is there to listen, support, and help.

Their trauma-informed counselors provide a safe and supportive space to explore options and connect with resources. All services are completely free and confidential.

We are grateful to have Safe Monroe as part of the Pocono Area Senior Alliance (PASA) and for the important work they do to protect, support, and empower individuals in our community. 💜

Our PASA meeting was brimming with excitement this week! It was wonderful to see so many familiar and new faces at our August meeting.

This month, we are focused on establishing ourselves in the community through upcoming educational events to support seniors. Stay tuned for more details.

We also had the pleasure of hearing from Marissa Buatti from Safe Monroe, who gave an informative educational presentation about Domestic Violence and Elder Abuse. A special thank you to Spring Village at Pocono for hosting us.

✨ We welcomed our guest speaker, Melissa Craig from Residential Home Health & Hospice, who shared valuable information with our members.

🏡 We received updates on the PASA Home Modification Program, along with exciting news from our Fundraising and Community Impact Committees.

🐾 Thank you to everyone who donated to the Meals on Wheels Pet Program—we truly appreciate your generosity!
