WHAT A FIRST HOGTOBERFEST!
There are a lot of people to thank, so bear with us — because an event like this simply doesn't happen without a community coming together.
The inaugural Stroud Hogtoberfest brought an estimated 350 people to downtown Stroud throughout the day, while 53 hunters across 17 teams competed in our first Hogtoberfest Hog Hunt.
And those hunters brought in 89 hogs!
Congratulations to our 2026 winners:
HEAVIEST 3-HOG STRINGER — $2,750
673.5 lbs.
Antonio Neto & Ryan Ramming
BIGGEST HOG — $640
255.5 lbs.
Woodrow Barnes, Hunter Spears & Sam Anderson
MOST HOGS — $500
23 hogs
James Tiger, Mike Leeply, Cutter Thompson & Eric Mast
LONGEST CUTTERS — $500
3⅜" bottom cutters
Antonio Neto & Ryan Ramming
That's $4,390 in cash payouts to our hunt winners!
We also want to congratulate Jack Stafford, winner of the Rix Optics Storm S3R thermal scope raffle sponsored by Thermal Sales of Oklahoma. In addition to the approximately $2,000 thermal scope, Thermal Sales of Oklahoma provided a tremendous assortment of door prizes throughout the day. Thank you for going above and beyond to support our first event.
Pork Police Bait also made sure our hunters didn't leave empty-handed, providing every registered team with a full box of Molasses Madness wildlife attractant. Thank you for supporting our hunters and Hogtoberfest!
There would be no inaugural Hogtoberfest without our sponsors.
A huge thank you to our Title Sponsor, Sac and Fox Nation Casino, for believing in this idea and choosing to invest in an event designed to bring people together and support our community. Having that kind of support behind a brand-new event meant more than we can say.
And then there was Tatanka Ranch.
Tatanka was already a tremendous supporter of Hogtoberfest, but they surprised us by stepping up and providing FREE B**R throughout the day for everyone in attendance. That was never something we expected, but their generosity made an already great day even better.
Because, really... who doesn't love free b**r?
Thank you to Five Star BBQ & Steakhouse, presenting sponsor of The Sounder Stage. Five Star was busy working another event right here in Stroud that same day, but still made a generous sponsorship, found time to participate at Hogtoberfest, and brought giveaways and promotions with them.
Thank you as well to Genesis Enterprises, Jim Hodgens Attorney, 5 Tool Management and Consulting, and D's Specialty House & Catering for investing in our inaugural event. D's also graciously hosts the Stroud Lions Club every Tuesday at noon throughout the year.
We owe a particularly special thank-you to Jim Hodgens, because the original idea for Hogtoberfest was his. Jim envisioned an event like this years ago, and we are incredibly pleased that we finally had the opportunity to bring that vision to life.
Of course, a festival needs entertainment, and ours was fantastic. Thank you to Ben McKenzie and Jeremee Knipp and the Herd of Turtles for bringing live music to Main Street and helping make Hogtoberfest feel like a true festival.
Thank you to William Smittle with T-Town Productions for working with us on the stage and to Steve, our sound guy, for keeping everything sounding great throughout the day.
We also owe a tremendous thank-you to the City of Stroud and the City employees who helped prepare and set up downtown for the festival. Thank you to Bob Pearman for working with the Stroud Lions Club to coordinate so many of the pieces necessary to make our first year successful.
And finally, thank you to our Stroud Lions Club members, volunteers, vendors, hunters, families, visitors and everyone who simply showed up. Whether you competed, volunteered, sponsored, bought something from a vendor, listened to the music, had a b**r, or just came downtown to see what Hogtoberfest was all about — you helped make the first one a success.
But the story doesn't end with Hogtoberfest.
The Stroud Lions Club is proud to share that proceeds from this inaugural event will help support the Stroud Youth Wrestling Club as they work toward a dream of their own: hosting the first wrestling tournament to take place right here in Stroud.
Putting on a tournament of that size comes with significant costs, and the Stroud Lions Club plans to help Youth Wrestling meet some of those needs. Their goal is to bring hundreds of wrestlers and their families from across Oklahoma to our community to compete.
That's exactly the kind of impact we hoped Hogtoberfest could have.
We had a dream of creating something new that would bring people to Stroud, support our community and raise money for a good cause. Now, some of the proceeds from that event can help another local organization pursue its own dream — and potentially bring hundreds more people into our community.
That's what Lions Club is about.
The Stroud Lions Club is a service organization that works throughout the year to support organizations, charities and people doing good work in Stroud and the surrounding communities.
If you're curious about what Lions Club does — or maybe interested in becoming part of it — reach out to a Lion you know or come see us. We meet every Tuesday at noon at D's Specialty House & Catering.
For our first Hogtoberfest, we learned a lot. We had a lot of fun. And most importantly, we saw what can happen when a community gets behind an idea.
To everyone who helped turn an idea into Hogtoberfest:
Thank you.
We can't wait to see what we can do next year.
Hunt. Compete. Celebrate.
