Wes (Troop Leader) walked up to Chris (Sr Patrol Leader) said it was time. That is all it took to get the well oil machine to roar to life quietly. Chris signed to Bob (Assistant Sr Patrol Leader). Bob put up the signal of 3 fingers in the air. He asked the Scouts to form a single line. Not screaming, just calm and confident. Just like Chris’s signal to him. The room quieted down and the Scouts got in this line. The room went from chaotic to calm. Chris walked down the line reminding a few Scout what Bob asked. The adult leaders stood off to the side to watch the power of the boy lead troop. It’s inspiring.

Don't forget today is Dining to Donate at Applebee's in Brunswick. Why cook at home? We are raising money to keep the summer camp price down. Summer camp is a great time for the Scouts. They learn, have fun, and get away from Mom and Dad.

Tell your waitress/waiter the code "DoinGood" for us to receive credit. You can also order TO GO orders, instructions attached, use code: DOINGOOD. Uber Eats & DoorDash are excluded.

** Please share. ** Every order helps. Did I say you need to tell them "Doingood"?

Thank you to one of our Scout moms, Michelle Meade, for arranging this.

We were notified that Strongsville High School will not be open tomorrow due to the weather. As a result, we are rescheduling our registration night to next week:

📆 Date: Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2026.
⏰ Time: 7:30 pm – 8:30 pm.
📍 Location: Strongsville High School – Media Center, 20025 Lunn Road, Strongsville, OH.

If any of your AOL scouts are unable to attend but would still like to join Troop 701, please let me know. We can coordinate an alternate date and time to complete the necessary paperwork.

Again, this event is intended for parents/guardians of Arrow of Light Scouts, as well as new Scouts who are at least 10 years old and currently in fifth grade, with sons who are planning to cross over / join Troop 701.

Troop 701's Committee Chair will be on hand to guide parents/guardians through the registration process and answer any questions. Troop 701 / Scouting America items (handbooks, neckerchiefs, troop T-shirts, etc.) will be available for purchase at the event, as well.

We look forward to welcoming our new Scouts to Troop 701.
Stay safe in the cold weather, and we’ll see you soon!

Yours in Scouting,

David Kunselman, ASM Troop 701

This fund raiser is to help pay for the cost of summer camp. Summer camp is a great time for the Scouts to get away from home. Have a great time and earn a few merit badges.

I included a few photos to show people what summer camp is like. FYI, No Applebees at camp, the Scout have to cook their food.

While we are in Strongsville, Troop 701 and have a large number of Scout and Leaders from Brunswick and other areas. Troop 701 has contributed services hours helping local non profits in Brunswick. More than a few of the Scout's Eagle Projects benefits Brunswick including the sensory boards (1 on the wall near the office and 6 handheld) at Huntington School, Turtle habitats at Brunswick Lake, A bless box at the Brunswick Fire station and picknick tables at Saint Ambros playground. ...And local project to come.

Thank you for supporting the Scouts.

A picture is worth a thousand words. The guy standing is our Scout Leader Wes Kent. The guy sitting down is Ted Parsons and he is the one of the Quartermaster leaders. This is game night for the troop. They dress down and relax. Wes bounces from group to group having fun but also watching what is going on. If something is going on he might deal with it but most times he hands it off to the Senior Potrol Leader (Scout) who is in charge of leading the Troop. Ted is building relationships and he is also building respect. Being Quartermaster is one of hardest positions. The Scouts line up to be part of this elite group. This photo shows how well the adult leaders of Troop 701 work with the scouts.

Thanksgiving represents a lot of things. Family and friends are part of that. In the Photo, Troop 701 is closing the Scout meeting with vespers. This was taken over the summer. I am going to try to explain the key points. They sing a closing song at the end of each meeting. Each member crosses arms and link hands. Linking them all together. They make a circle to have no begin and no end. The circle can alway increase to include everyone. Leaders and Scouts stand in the circle together as we are all part of this Scouting family. You can see Scouts from Strongsville, Brunswick, Columbia Station, Berea, North Olmsted and more. If you are looking for an amazing Troop, we would love to welcome you at our next meeting.
