Knitting for the Nations was founded by yours truly, Diana Jin, out of her living room in Strongsville, Ohio November 2013. (it’s never to late to pursue your dreams)
She combined her affection for the peacefulness of knitting handmade scarves with her longing to support her closest friends who are going into the mission field full time. (cray)

During her first international mission trip to E
cuador, South America, she experienced mental and emotional struggles as a "rich American young adult" encountering the depth of third-world poverty. The physical and emotional needs of the Ecuadorians was beyond what she could bare; she could not reconcile the tremendous gap in quality of life between herself and the people she had the honor of serving, the people she fell in love with. After wrestling with the thoughts "okay, I will go home and sell all I have and give it to them," and "that's completely foolish! Are you out of your mind?!" A greater thought from a much more greater place emerged: Diana, you have a stellar education, a promising job, a supportive network of loved ones and you in the land of the free and the home of the brave. Your money isn't the resource I want, YOU are the resource I want. You can use your creativity/skills to multiply your resources, then generously give it out in a lasting and human way. Money is a tool. Relationships will effect eternity.

So I thought, who will be able to stay at a location long enough to make a positive impact on this community and other third world communities? my full time missionary friends! Currently the full time missionaries being supported are: Michele & Drew Brown, Rebecca Meyer. In addition, I offer to pray for people while knitting the scarf. The prayers can be for the purchaser of the scarf or the person who will receive the scarf or both! :) love how prayer works that way. 2 for one deal. Normally these scarves retail for 25$. The way I sell is by pure donations. Anything over 10$ will go directly to the missionaries :)
I need your help in the following ways:
- Make it known. Spread the word.
- Buy a scarf for a sister, daughter, girlfriend, mom, aunt, a stranger!
- Learn how to knit from me and become one of my partners! (benefits: peacefulness for your beautifully busy mind, satisfaction of working with your hands, free corny jokes from me!)
What do ya say? Will you join me?
