Truly humbled to commemorate Memorial Day by paying tribute to the brave men and women who sacrificed everything for our nation.🇺🇸The Hannah Luther Bosworth chapter proudly marched in the Strongsville parade and participated in the solemn ceremony to honor the ultimate heroes. Member Holli Barnett was invited to speak. And members Pam Campbell and Jessica Dzik manned our Wreaths Across America table. We were all very heartened by the presence of so many children at the ceremony who will carry on the Memorial Day tradition of remembrance.

At our May chapter meeting and luncheon, Chapter Regent Jessica Dzik presented Kenneth Stahurski, U.S. Army Specialist E-4 & Vietnam Veteran, with a certificate of appreciation for his service, courage and sacrifices. Our chapter also recognizes his continued support and service to the veteran community. Several members of the American Legion were in attendance to see Mr. Stahurski receive his recognition.

During our May Luncheon we installed our new board and said “Thank you” to our outgoing board members.

The speaker at our April chapter meeting was Junior member Sarah Giddings. She taught us about “Kitsuke: The Art of Dressing in Kimono.” Sarah spent a semester in Japan while in college and not only learned about the traditions of Kimono but also started collecting vintage kimonos. During her presentation she shared her collection and also demonstrated how to properly wear kimono. Also at our March meeting, member Pam Campbell showed us the handmade quilt she received at OSDAR State Conference. It’s in recognition of her service in the U.S. military and was bestowed on her as part of DAR’s Quilts of Valor program. Congratulations Pam!

In 2025, Holli’s counted cross stitch won first place in the DAR Arts Competition sponsored by The American Heritage Committee at OSDAR State Conference. She won first place at State in 2024, and 3rd place at National in 2025.
During her talk, Holli displayed pictures of needlework from the Revolutionary time period.

The speaker at our January chapter meeting was Brian Feron, President of the Medina County Historical Society. He shared with us the process of how the Historical Society spearheaded the research, writing and printing of the book “Voices of the Revolutionary War. Remembering Our Patriots in Medina County.”
The book documents and tells the stories of more than two dozen Revolutionary War patriots who settled in Medina County after the war. The book was made possible thanks to a grant from America 250 which helps celebrate our country’s susqucentennial in 2026.
Interested in purchasing a book? They are available for $10 through the Medina Historical Society. There is also a PDF version available.
