The solstice forest can feel like a living temple of green light. Celebrating the summer solstice by forest bathing couldn’t be sweeter.The solstice and forest bathing weave together in a special way as both are celebrations of presence,vitality,and one’s relationship with the living world. Forest bathing is an art of immersion into nature with all our senses.The solstice walk will be given by certified guide,Catherine Mangan on Sunday June 21st from 10am-12:30pm. At Gardenview Horticultural Park there are a number of unique plants that grow only in GV this English Ivy 'Hedera Helix' (Gardenview Gold) is one of them. New growth starts bright yellow/gold then turns green after a year. It can be found west of the cottage near the bridge to the Japanese Forest Garden.

Sogetsu Ikebana arrangements recently at the Cleveland Botanical Society by Ikebana master, Shoko Morton. The plants and flowers are from Gardenview. She will be having an Ikebana workshop at the Gardenview cottage this coming Saturday, May 30 from 2pm-4pm. There are still a few spaces open so please call 440-238-6653 to reserve your space. This is a reminder that on Saturday,May 30, Gardenview is hosting 2 special workshops involving flower alchemy! In the morning Mead Making with Joe Mestnik involves the transformation of flower nectar to a honey brew. And in the afternoon Sogetsu Ikebana with Shoko Morton. Participants will create a traditional Japanese flower arrangement which will reflect their emotion and character. Call 440-238-6653 for registration of one or both events.
